Cleaning power is excellent and I'm very impressed with the fact that no hair gets tangled in the head! Battery life however is surprisingly low. I can only get about 15 minutes of use.

This is our second Dyson V8. Although this is not the fanciest of Dyson's cordless line - it meets the mark on all of our needs for a household essential. The only downfall is the hair de tangler feature does not allow me to use on rugs, like the previous version does. It gets stuck on the thicker texture. Otherwise this vacuum is a great option. It does what all the other vacuums can do without the super hefty price tag. Holds a charge well and allows me to vacuum my entire 2600 sq foot home (most hard floors, 2 couches, and thin rugs on a single charge). Happy with our investment.

I bought this a couple weeks ago. It is great at picking up dog hair. Several complaints though: if you run on max setting, it only has battery life for about 10 minutes. Attachments are hard to take off and it is quite loud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unit vacuums well, but the red retaining tab on the main body is broken so everytime you try to empty it the whole thing falls apart. Very annoying and the part is on backorder

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. It is light weight, easy to use, easy to empty, washable filter. It is awesome! I am giving it 4 stars simply because of the battery. On max setting, a fully charged battery lasts 7 minutes. I have a cat, and my grown children bring their dogs. I need to vacuum on max often. 7 minutes does not do it for me. I wish it had a longer run time. I called the company, and they did offer to send me another battery, but it would have the same run time. I would really like a longer lasting battery or an option to try an upgraded model that has a longer battery life. If they can make the battery last longer, I would tell everyone I know to spend the money, and not to waste time with other vacuums!

If the tube was longer I would give a higher rating. I love this vacuum! Powerful! It's lightweight, it fits into tight spaces and under furniture. The battery lasts for 2.5 big rooms for a deep clean, then you have to recharge. Best feature is no cord to get hung up around doorways and furniture inhibiting your movement while vacuuming.
