As in... sucks the dirt and debris straight off the floor. Seriously, I can't recommend this vacuum enough to people. And as a single guy in my '20s - the fact that I'm *recommending a vacuum* to anyone at all should be proof in itself that the Dyson V8 is a king among vacuums. I recently said - out loud - the sentence, "I think vacuuming is my new favorite hobby." Plus, the only thing girls dig more than a clean house, is a guy who cleans his house with a Dyson. I'm pretty sure there's some science to back that up.
Anyway - just get a Dyson and thank me later.

Battery life not as advertised maybe get 10-12 min at high speed ….replaced the whole unit with no change in battery life.

I bought this Dyson with high expectations and I was truly let down due to the battery life of this unit. I should have read the reviews because with the amount of money that I paid for this vacuum I could have bought two of them with another brand.

I recently purchased for a cabin. I think the battery runs down quickly I was hoping to ba able to clean the whole cabin on one charge but not possible.

I purchased the Dyson V8 about a month ago, I enjoy it; however, the battery life is disappointing for the amount of money spent. Dyson, there is no way a person could perform a meticulous and extensive cleaning in 45 minutes. It’s also disappointing that the battery takes hours to charge!

I love the vacuum, but it does come with some caveats. I wish they had an off/on button instead of having to hold in the button. I have arthritis and after a while it hurts. It's a little heavy to raise when cleaning up top. Lastly, the battery dies after 20 mins when running it the higher mode.

Happy with the machine but disappointed with the battery. I’m not able clean my all apartment in one shot. It doesn’t last at all. It says 40 min but it last less than that for sure. Or may be the battery has an issue.
