The Dyson is lightweight to use which makes it easy to use. Disappointed that the vacuum does not work on throw rugs. The vacuum shuts off and pulls rug up. There does not seem to be a good suction when moving from hardwood floor to rug. Not getting all the crumbs on the floor. Overall I would rate this as average.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I replaced my Dyson V6 after nearly a decade of service, the improvements made to the V8 are very impactful and make it an easier to clean unit. The suction is much stronger than my V6 too powerful on the low setting to vacuum my throw rugs now they just get sucked up and it turns off the agitator, my V6 would only do that on high power mode. The V8 is also quite a bit quieter too, it sounds like it is spinning slower with a Lower pitch sound while creating that heavy suction. The balance is just as good as the V6, while it does feel heavier they did a great Jones of keeping it light in had and balanced. The washable filters toast are easy to replace is also very nice upgrade. I hope this unit lasts as long or longer than my old V6 which was migrated to shop duty. Thanks Dyson for a great product!

We bought this a month ago. We have a 1300 sq ft house and we can use it on high most of our house. We have cats so our other vacuum would not pick up the litter. This little vacuum is amazing!
