Bought this to replace a 30 year old Kirby that still worked but was too heavy and taking up too much room. New Dyson is much lighter, easier to use, especially changing the attachments and emptying the debris, and picks up much better than the Kirby.

My other stick vacuum (from a different brand) needed replacing after a series of malfunctions so I bit the bullet and purchased this Dyson. I got it on a sale and with some extra goodies as part of my purchase, and just the first day of using it proved that I was right to get it. My other vac was branded as a pet hair specialty vac but man, running this Dyson V8 Absolute over the same patch of carpet yielded so much more than I was expecting. My cat, Jack, sheds like he is paying the mortgage with his fur. It’s everywhere. The attachments allow for such versatility. I have carpet, vinyl flooring, tile, and flat and plush area rugs, and I get so much more up that I was wondering how I could have ever lived in all the dirt and dust. The filtration seems pretty great as I am getting dust and dirt I never saw in the old vac and it is pretty easy to move around.
One tiny thing I wish could be improved is that my old unit had a light in the head that really showed me the dirt and dust and I kinda miss that feature. But, this thing is just so much more powerful so it’s not been that much of an issue. Recommended if you’re looking for a good stick vacuum upgrade.

I have owned my Dyson vacuum about a month and am very impressed with the quality. I picks up everything and is powerful. It beats my cannister type , hands down. It's easy to empty and clean. It has a great stand for charging with plenty of different heads for cleaning different surfaces. Battery power is good.

I bought the Dyson end of May and so far very pleased with performance. It picks up very well. Has several attachments (some I haven’t tried yet).
My only complaint is the trigger to run it , I wish it was a sliding switch as my finger gets tired while vacuuming.
