We've had the Dyson for about a month now and so far it is performing as well as expected. It's nice that I can get right down and under furniture. My only complaint is that I must hold the trigger to operate the vacuum. It would be nice to either be able to lock the trigger or just have an on/off button.
I should have bought one years ago. Amazing technology and every aspect of design well though out. Really light, quiet and powerful as well as convenient. It's actually a pleasant experience to vacuum now.
So far, I love my Dyson v8. I have a Dyson ball vacuum that doesn't fit under the beds. This vacuum is perfect for that job. Bonas for me: I have wood floors everywhere except the bedrooms. The Dyson v8 works great on these floors. Being able to grab it from its charging dock fully charged is so convenient. I love the ease of adding/removing accessories and emptying the bin. This is now my go to for every day cleaning. I am very satisfied with my Dyson v8.
On the plus side it is a very powerful vacuum with great suction. It left my floors looking very clean. However, the on switch which has to be constantly pressed down in order to vacuum is very annoying. I got a blister because my finger was pressing down on the button while I was moving it around with the rest of my hand. Would it have been so difficult to install an on/off switch - really? Also your manual leaves a lot to be desired. I read it and watched the video and it still took a while to figure out how to empty the canister once it was full. It’s not as intuitive as you think it is so if you want a more satisfied customer provide better instructions One shouldn’t need an engineering degree to run a vacuum - not even a Dyson

Purchased 3 weeks ago. Battery certainly does not last very long. 15 minutes then shuts off. While it's running it picks up nicely but 15 minutes is not enough time to vacuum my "small" house!

We are very happy with our Dyson V8 vacuum so far. It seems to clean carpets better than our robot vacuum and is easy to use for quick touch up vacuuming. Having a charging station so that we can just hang it up and have it charge is also very helpful.
Very impressive! My husband even uses it as he impressed as how well it works. Every time he vacuums he picks up more stuff. Our floors are so much cleaner.
