Love it!

I love my new Dyson V8. I can carry up and down the stairs one handed while holding onto the railing. After vaccuming my carpet with my canister, I used my Dyson and found it picked up dust and dirt left behind. So happy with my new vac!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not a great choice

This machine has very little suction and a full charge allows use for 15 minutes or so. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My favorite house-warming gift!

My mom gifted me the V8 for a house-warming gift 3 years ago and I still love it. The machine is so sleek, easy to store and use, and powerful. One mistake I made early on was using it on max power at all times so we did need to replace the battery (user error). Knowing Dyson products are priced at a premium, I was really excited to start investing in quality items for my home and felt like the V8 is an excellent entryway product into the category.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Suction is not what I expected

I bought the V8 model about a month ago and I am disappointed in the suction. I have to use it on high and it significantly reduces the battery life.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your machine does feature two suctions modes; MAX for those tougher messes and larger debris, and regular suction for everyday household cleaning. You will notice that if you are using MAX suction mode on a more regular basis, that you will notice an overall reduction in the life of the battery. I love it! I always had Kirby, but I find myself avoiding vacuuming because it was a chore! This Dyson is amazing. It’s light and has great suction. It’s easy to empty the canister with one button. I can do my whole house in 10 minutes!

I got this as a Christmas gift from my kids. It has great suction, but I hate to have to change the bottom piece from carpet to hardwood floors. My other vacuum had one that you could just push a button to adjust. Also, I do not feel like the battery stays charged very long.

My mum sweeps the house everyday and was shocked to see how much dirt the Dyson picked up after she had swept. The only flaw is that there is no lever or button to keep the vacuum engaged so she has to keep squeezing the lever which hurts her hand. For the price I would have expected a better design.
