No, because I can't even use it at the moment. Second time trying to empty the dust bin, it became stuck and now won't go up or down. So I'm not overly impressed with Dyson. My options are to send it back, which is a pain or try to find someone locally who can fix it - also a pain! When I called Dyson I was told just to find someone stronger who can dislodge the bin for me - are you kidding me? It shouldn't be this hard to pull it up in the first place.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review. The V8 Absolute is a great cord-free option for homes with both carpeting and bare floors, with it's two versatile cleaner heads. There is also a mini motorhead, which is the pet tool for cord-free models. This tool allows you to easily pick up pet hair from furniture, stairs or any other hard to reach area. If you're having trouble with your machine, please feel free to get in touch with us at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We'd be happy to provide you with any needed assistance, or help with any questions you may have.

Does not hold in cat litter or anything smaller
on February 8, 2023

I noticed cat litter falling out of my vacuum and saw that the flap that is supposed to hold it in is not big enough. There is a gap around it big enough for particles as big as cat litter to fall right back out. I contacted support and they said a new replacement bin would fix the issue. They sent me a new one and it has the exact same issue. I reached out again and they offered to send another replacement bin again. I don't understand how a vacuum advertised as being for households with pets is unable to hold in cat litter. It's way to expensive to have such a big design flaw.

Hello Jenny (and the cats), this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to share your review here with us. It's frustrating to know that any debris you're picking up is not staying put in the bin as it should. The bin flap is designed to open and close; it will remain open when the trigger is engaged to allow all debris to come and enter the dust bin. Once you let go of the trigger, the flap closes. If there is any debris left in the wand, however, that will fall back out, as the flap does get closed. We would suggest keeping the trigger depressed another 10 seconds or so, after cleaning, just to ensure everything makes it into the bin. If you still have any questions or concerns that we can help to address, feel free to get in touch with us at askdysonUS@dyson.com.

Excited to get this as a gift but while trying to vacuum the kitchen my finger is hurting all the way up to the elbow. It is hard to hold the trigger the entire time you vacuum. Why would they do this?

I am returning this vacuum, it is heavy to hold None of my previous vacuums have been heavy. Also it will not vacuum my carpets! It only works on hardwood and porcelain floors all my other vacuums go right from floors to carpets with no problem.

Garbage. Doesn’t hold a charge.

I just got this vacuum. It took over an hour to fully charge then it only lasted about 15-20 min. I had to stop cleaning the floors and wait over an hour to charge again. Instead of making a cordless vacuum maybe Dyson should add a cord that retracts. This battery powered vacuum sucks.

Great on carpet!

We hardly ever need to run the vacuum on max, have plenty of suction and plenty of battery life. It's amazing how much it picks up, even when the floor looks clean! Love not having a cord attached! Holding the trigger in doesn't bother me or my husband. Very happy with our purchase. Our daughter-in-law bought one after hearing me rave about it, she loves her V8 too. Great product.
