I expected more

This stick vacuum was to get me through to my normal vacuum getting repaired. The suction is awful. Maybe all sticks are like that. I have been told there is no comparison to a good quality canister vacuum and they are right.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this vacuum!

I wanted something lightweight so that I could vacuum crumbs and the front hall without dragging out a big vacuum. It works so well that I use it every day somewhere, mostly on bare floors but also on carpets. It is also absolutely amazing for stairs and for cars.

Well, it's our second Dyson V8...

Even with some shortcomings, I have praised every Dyson I have owned so far. Although the previous Dyson V8 we had was still operational, it suffered through a lot of use from my children. Being dropped over a dozen times, it finally started cracking in some places, and had a lot of scratches. This "new" model seems to have improved on a few aspects from our older V8 unit. The long suction tube is now a black, high impact plastic compared to the orange / gold, metal powder-coated version that was easily scarred with use. The top chamber-filter now has a cover to keep it in place, which was a very big complaint from my family as it was always falling out with use. Standard power mode still lasts the same amount of time, about twenty minutes, or enough to finish up one floor of our house. "Turbo" mode drains the battery much faster, decreasing time to about ten minutes, but has enough suction to pick up the most stubborn objects, even stuff the bigger Dyson won't grab. It's enough time to get all the outside leaves and debris cleaned up from our kitchen area. Very easy to reach under furniture, if there's enough clearance to get the head under; no need for juggling attachments. My biggest praise for Dyson is that our family can easily destroy any vacuum in about six months with all the animal hair we clean up; they just don't keep the same amount of suction. Each Dyson has not decreased more than 10% of its suction power in the three or more years they have been owned. They just keep going.

Good accessorie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My V8 works well and i especially like the accessory
that helps me clean dog hair in the back of my SUV.
Dog hair clings to the fabric making it difficult to remove.
Up until now, only sticky rollers could remove it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Several years ago I bought a v7 and love it, then I bought a Dyson corded vacuum, then a v8, all work extremely well. I’m so satisfied that I just ordered a v8 for my niece.

Great suction/ Terrible battery life

Love this vac

I have had my Dyson vacuum for about a month and absolutely love it. I love the lightness compared to the others that I was tempted to buy for a cheaper price. I decided that at this time in my life I’m going to get what I want, no matter the price. This stick vacuum has not disappointed me!
