BEST Decision Ever! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

WHY?
I have mostly hardwood flooring and some tile flooring. We do have 4 large area rugs as well. My main reason for looking for a new vacuum cleaner was that we were tired of chasing dog and cat hair around on hardwood floors and having to plug in and unplug and you know how you go too far and you accidentally unplug it?
RESEARCH:
I read some different vacuum cleaner top 10 articles and then watched some videos. Once I saw the video on this Dyson V8 I knew this was the one of the top 10 to get, that would suit my particular needs.
HARDWOOD FLOORS:
The hardwood floor head is amazing! I had no idea how much Pug glitter I had on my floors until I used this attachment! The laser light is very, very helpful! It lies pretty flat too so that I can vacuum under the couch without moving the couch.
CARPET:
The carpet head attachment also works great and the suction is just as strong if not stronger than my other vacuum on carpeted area rugs. We're going to donate our vacuum.
OTHER ATTACHMENTS & BATTERY:
The other attachments including the one for use on your car or kitty tower are great and I like that hair is not going to tangle on any of these vacuum heads. The battery life is perfect for my size home and cleaning needs. I have not bought an extra battery.
EASE OF USE:
I don't mind having to pull the trigger and keep it depressed to turn it on. It makes it fast to start and stop before I accidentally suck up something or hit something I shouldn't.
EMPTYING THE CONTAINER:
LOVE IT!!! Aside from how great it works on hardwood floors, I LOVE the way you empty the container! It's fun and super easy to empty, unlike my other vacuum. I have asthma and I am so leery of exposing myself to vacuumed-up dust particles. Dyson has the perfect solution with the shotgun pumping action to empty the canister. 💖
OVERALL:
This Dyson V8 works great on both carpet and hardwood floors and I find it super easy to grab and use daily in areas that need it. I have not had to clean the filter but it looks pretty easy. The digital display is nice and very easy to use. Oh, and the sound of the Dyson is not bad! It's not as loud as the other name brand that I had "Once Upon A Time" lol!!
I wish I had bought this sooner! 😎
OTHER:
I did just purchase a moveable stand for it because I didn't want to use the included wall attachment to permanently place it somewhere and there are a lot of attachments and 3 heads. Some people have said they wished Dyson included a stand with it but I like the option of finding one that suits my home. Once it arrives I can see where I want to store my Dyson but I can always change my mind.

I have a lot of hard wood and the main thing I've noticed that I don't like is that it doesn't pick up very well when I'm pulling the machine towards me. When I push forward it picks up but not pulling it back. Battery life is so so.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far I love it, easy peasy to use, have 2 dogs in the house and I use it at least once a day. Love going under the furniture and collecting all the dust.

Good vacuum but missing a part

I purchased this vacuum primarily to do stairs and it works well for that purpose. It’s a little heavier than I expected but manageable. My main complaint is that the crevice tool pictured in the instructional brochure is missing and Dyson has told me that they will send one when it’s back in stock but it’s been over a month and nothing yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pleased with the operation of the vacuum. I am older and it is light enough for me to handle. It cleans the carpet and the vinyl floors equally. It's a little harder to push on carpet. I would recommend this product.

I bought the Dyson because of their reputation on being the best. I am disappointed that the suction is not as expected. I was expecting much more for the price I paid for it.
