I of course like this product. The new style beater bar is different than the original in the fact that it doesn't seem to fluff up the carpet like the old one. Not saying that it doesn't clean as well, I believe it does. But I do like my carpet to have that really fluffy just vacuumed appearance.

This was a Christmas present, yes, and well appreciated. Makes cleaning a three story home much easier with this powerful machine that I don’t have to find an electrical plug and make extra trips up flights of stairs to plug in and unplug. I can even vacuum under the dressers and beds without moving furniture.

While we thought our older Dyson cordless was the bomb, when we got this newer model we were impressed! Works great, runs a long time and picks everything up. The only reason we upgraded was that our 10 year old model started tuning off after a short time. Since the new one was a gift, we bought a new battery for the old one and now we have 2. Anyone thinking these machines are too expensive should think again. These things are workhorses and last for years. We would never be without one!
