Greatly disappointed. Yes it sweeps and does it well but the battery makes it ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS.

V8 Absolute comes with all of the right attachments to do a great job cleaning both carpet and hard floors. Ordered the V8 Origin and returned it. The Origin comes with only the motorbar head, which does a great job on carpets but not so great on hard floors. The Absolute includes the fluffy cleaner head which is specifically for hard floors and does an excellent job. Both cleaner heads do a great job removing pet fur and hair without getting the pet fur or hair wrapped around the rotating bar. The motor bar is excellent at removing pet fur from rugs that our corded vacuum can't remove. The cleaner heads are easy to change, but the wall mount should come with a spot to store the extra cleaner head. Otherwise, the wall mount makes it convenient to store and charge the vacuum and has spots to store the crevice and combination tools. The normal suction strikes a good balance between suction and battery life. The max suction is much greater but shortens the battery life to a degree I find acceptable for only short bursts. The trigger for the vacuum should really have a locking ability or be a switch. The max switch could then be a thumb operated button to make the max feature easier to use for short bursts. These two changes would make the vacuum less tiring and more convenient to use. I realize that this vacuum is not the top of the line model, but it should be comfortable and easy to use regardless. We have a large house and only about 50% of the floor space can be cleaned with the available 40 minute run time. This works out just fine, though, as a cordless vacuum makes it easy to clean one or two rooms at a time as needed. The vacuum is easy to empty, but collects very fine dust that can become airborne when emptying the cannister. I have started emptying the vacuum in a can outside the house to prevent reintroducing dust into the house. The construction of the vacuum appears to be well thought out and sturdy without making it so heavy as to be tiring to use.
I’ve had it for a week and haven’t been able to use it. I spent over 1/2 hour it. on a chat trying to get help because I couldn’t get it to take a charge. This, after spending a significant amount of time online trying to troubleshoot. Eventually they said they’d send a new battery. I’m currently waiting for it. Obviously disappointed because I had high expectations and was anxious to try it.

I received my Dyson as a gift. Right out of the box it didn’t work. So now, a month later, I’m awaiting a new machine after going through the lengthy process of having to exchange. Not the best experience and not what I expected.

I am very happy with my purchase so far. It is a little tiring on my hand having to squeeze & hold the trigger. It would be nice if it would stay running on the first squeeze then off on the 2nd squeeze. I love the accessories but pretty disappointed that there was no accessory holder for them. They are offered for an extra price. Those 2 reasons are why I didn't give it 5 stars.
I was so excited to open this on Christmas! My kids got together and bought me this beautiful vacuum! I have about 50% hard wood or tiles, 25% wall to wall, and 25% area rugs. This vacuum does great with floors and tile. It does okay with wall to wall carpeting although it has to be on max setting during this time. Area rugs, it literally shuts down. I have a very heavy duty, tight pilled (not shag) 12x15 area rug that is held down by the furniture but when I try to vacuum, it stops the rotating brush from movement. The smaller area rugs that are considered washable, (despite being 10x12 feet) are just too thin and they bog it completely down. Just the same, for quick DRY spills in the kitchen or bare floors, this is excellent! It gets hair and dust that is against the wall and the attachments are EXCELLENT additions!! I love being able to get into some of those places that my regular vacuum cannot get into!! Also, the weight of this product is perfect! I’m a little older and to use a heavy product can sometimes be too much but this is so light and easy to handle!

The only problem is the battery life. Fully charged battery only goes for 3-5 minutes. Not even close to the 40 minutes they claim. Aside from that it has good suction power, ergonomic and easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!
