Handy tool

I have had this for a few weeks now and very happy that I spent the money. I have hard wood floors and a Golden Retriever, it picks up her hair without pushing it everywhere. I do wish the battery charge lasted longer but I do love it.

This was gifted to me for Christmas. I absolutely love it! It’s light weight, versatile, and has great suction power. There are also lots of attachments included.

Great Vacumm but need longer run time

I have been looking for an affordable vaccum that has good suction especially for pet hair and definitely cordless. Of all vacuums, this one has done wonders! It is so quick and easy to clean my home however, run time is not what is advertised. Description says run time is 40 minutes, I’ve had it continuously on for 20 minutes and it dies on me even though it was fully charged. It runs longer when I’m using it here and there but for continuous use, run time is not accurate. Still good vacuum, love all the different interchangeable gadgets, they all come in handy. Still would want a second vacuum as a back up but they should really work on a longer run time.

Great Experience

After being very dissatisfied with my first Dyson, I am exceedingly happy with my new V8 model. It works beautifully, is light, and very easy to manage. It is much quieter than my previous one. I am very pleased. In addition, the lady I talked to when trying to diagnose the problems with my previous Dyson, was OUTSTANDING. My call was taken immediately and she was exceedingly helpful.

Would've been a perfect vac, except for 2 things

The "bad" - there is no trigger lock, so you have to keep the trigger squeezed for the vacuum to run, which makes my finger hurt, and, the battery is small and not "hot swappable".
Otherwise, very powerful, easy to maintain, just what I wanted, save for the 2 things above.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review with us. I can confirm that the V8 does not have a trigger lock, so when using the unit, you do need to hold down the light-touch trigger at all times. Currently, the only cord-free machines we have that do have an on/off switch rather than a trigger, would be our Omni-Glide or V12 Detect models. The battery on the V8 is held in place with tiny screws, so while it can be replaced if need be, we wouldn't consider it to be swappable, in order to extend the run time. Great Powerful and Quiet Vacuum

This is the third Dyson Vacuum I have purchased. This on is by far the quietest and most powerful of the other two which I have had for years and still use.

Needs a longer battery life

I bought this after using one at a friends house for a few minutes. It is nice and light for spots, but not enough battery life to quickly cover my whole floor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). Love this Vaccum!

Since I have no pets, I ordered the V8. It is very powerful and so easy for me to operate.
Such a pleasure to go from room to room, w/o fighting with a cord. And it is lightweight enough that it doesn't bother my back.
