V-8 Problem Since Our Purchase

We bought our first Dyson V-8 several months back as we thought this would be a great vacuum for our house with two cats. My husband and I were so very excited because both of our adult children and their families have a Dyson cordless. Then, we were like kids with our very first toy and after it arrived and my husband took it out of the box and put it together. We immediately both started taking turns vacuuming all over the house to try it out. It was great until we got to tile and harwood surfaces. Our new Dyson had an issue of not picking up and collecting all of the scoopable litter into the clear waste bin and would forcefully spit out some pieces all the time while vacuuming. Watch out or you would get hit! The second problem occurs when letting go of the trigger to stop the vacuum, it would dump a little pile of litter out on the floor every single time the trigger was not used. We tried several different litters thinking that this might be the problem. That was not the case. We are both very perplexed to say the least. Please help us!
So we thought we should try another cat litter and we bought another brand. It was still the same result as we had with the first litter being spit out while vacuuming and I have to constantly go back over what I just vaccumed. Also, when I finish vacuuming and let go of the trigger, the vacuum dumps some back on our hardwood floors, every single time. I have to go over the same places that I just vacumed and it is very frustrating to do this over and over. I think I am finished and it dumps litter back out when I let go of the trigger. This feels like a non-ending scenario. I am very frustrated since we bought this and wonder what the problem could be. It is nothing new.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is our second Dyson V8

We recently purchased another Dyson V8. The Dyson vacuum stick cleaner is is perfect for our house needs with nearly 3000 square feet of cleaning space. We have the older one downstairs with the new one upstairs. Great products!! We also have Dyson hair dryer and Dyson fans.

Our older Dyson no longer worked and was beyond repair. We went a couple of months without it and realized how much we missed the convenience and ease of vacuuming. Very pleased with our new one. Very quiet and efficient.

V8 motorhead died

I bought my Dyson just over a year ago and it does not get heavy use (it lives in a vacation home) but it died. The blue lights go on as if it were charging but nothing happens when you push the start button. Sad! I loved this vacuum but it is too expensive to have to replace every year! The Dyson repair place is no where near me...

My new Dyson

Bought thr Dyson V8 last month. I have a lot of floor & carpet with a Golden Retriever. It does a great job on the carpet & area rugs but....it has scratched up my wood floors. Have to use my Shark cordless on the wood floors. Very disappointing especially when you pay that kind of money on a vacuum. As for recommending I would as long as they don't have wood floors.

Greatest putchase

Had it for 2months and the ability to love from room to room with ease and without having to plug and unplug is my favorite. Also the 2settings for “sucking” power really helps.
