Quit working, very disappointed

We received this as a gift less than 6 months ago and now it won’t run longer than two minutes. Good luck
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

works better when basket / filter are clean

It's small and light and easy to use. However once the filter and basket get filled with dust, the suction power decreases by half. I own an air compressor, so I use that to blow all of the dust out and then it works better again.
I would recommend this to a friend!

QUIETER MOTOR

Having other models this V8 is much quieter. A new bare floor roller is great. I've had Dyson's for years and wouldn't trade for any other vacuum cleaner.

A big load off!!

I purchased this vacuum to replace my old Dyson upright - it was a good decision. Leary of these vacuum 'lights' I have been worried whether this one would have the same strong suction but am very happy with it so far. I have my big old girl and she will vacuum upstairs while the new stick vacuum will be my go to downstairs for quick clean ups, the upholstered furniture, even the steps. It moves easily over area rugs and bare floors which is really great. It was recommended to my and I am passing on what is likely a stream of pretty good if not great reviews.

Versatile!

I didn't think that I wanted a cordless vacuum, given the need for battery power and periodic recharging, but it turns out that the Dyson V8 is so much more useful because it can convert from hand-held to "upright" configurations. I am using the V8 for way more cleaning tasks than my previous vacuum.

Good Vacuum but a little complicated to clean

I've had this V8 for about a month. My first Dyson. Emptying and cleaning it is not intuitive. I had to pull up the instructions online. Very afraid to get it wrong and force it because all of the parts are plastic.
The vacuum itself works well. No heavier than the one it replaced. Gets under beds and sofas easily. Haven't used any of the accessories yet but there are plenty of them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best for human hair and animal fur pick up

I bought this vaccum because my old vacuum was so heavy. I also have been losing alot of my hair due to stress and recently adopted a long haired senior cat. Dyson V8 was an answer to all my hair and fur problems. It is light weight and now I don't mind vacuuming. It was worth every penny and I'd buy it again.
