Battery life very short

I love the Dyson V8 but with only 8 to 10 minutes battery time it’s very limited. Will look for model with sufficient charge time

Battery died after 3 years, 1 month.

I reached out to CS and they offered to sell me a new battery that cost nearly half of what I paid for the vacuum. Note that I live in a small place, with just my wife and I, and we only have 2 small area rugs. This unit has had very little use. Don't trust the company or the reviews. I would have given it a great review for the first year until the battery started to die.

Bought brand-new Dyson V8 Absolute but...

Yesterday I received a brand-new Dyson V8 Absolute, and as soon as I wanted to charge it as recommended, I got the flashing red light instead: battery was already dead. It's very disappointing since this is the first time I purchase a product that I believe it must be high-quality given the brand, and the price. I've requested a battery replacement, and see how it goes with the new one. Bad luck? Maybe, but it's unacceptable that products passed QA in these conditions. I'll update my review once my experience with Dyson gets better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The V8 is the perfect choice for anyone with an English Bulldog & hardwood floors. Maneuvers under and around furniture with ease makes cleanup a breeze

It works well when on full power, but then the battery only last for 10 min. I have a small living area about 600 sq ft. and I cant vacuum the whole area before it dies.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The V8 features two modes: extended run high suction mode and max mode. Out the box, the machine is often on max mode. Max mode provides a total of 7 minutes of run time, and is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes. The extended run high suction mode is made to be the main mode, and is ideal for majority of cleaning tasks.
