I’m a 60-something guy who lives in an old farmhouse (lots of hardwood flooring) and dogs. And I DON’T CARE ABOUT DUST AND DOG HAIR BUT… I got this unit for coolness and convenience.
Much easier to pull out of its bracket and touch up than to go through the process of getting my heavy corded vacuum (which IS more powerful), taking it outside to empty, lugging around only to miss under furniture, stairs, and tight spots.
Yeah… “first world issue” for sure but I’m happy to say I was an instant convert. Plus I love the Dyson tech AND corporate philosophy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Handy in the fight against the dog hair!

I have a Chow mix and she sheds constantly. The V8 makes it so easy to keep it in check. The light weight and lack of a cord make it easy to grab and suck up hair balls any time of the day or night! Thank you Dyson!

I bought about a month ago. Used it …trying to get used to it. I go Empty and won’t open. Go online and discover it has happened to others. After reading all the ways to get it to empty….I finally figured it out.Not exactly what I expected for an expensive vacuum.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

upgrade from V6 animal

So far, one month, the vacumn is definitely an upgrade from my older model. The V6 battery lasted only 2 years and needed to be replaced but after replacement it lasted another 4 before slowly running down to only 15 minutes of power. This V8 came with fewer attachments but is much easier to empty and picks up dirt better with the addition of the rubber runner on the floor attachment. I'm hoping the battery will last longer on this model and am disappointed that the older attachments don't fit. The V8 is lightweight and easy to maneuver and it does a great job on my wood and tile flooring along with a few rugs. Battery hasn't run out yet on me and am able to clean an entire 2400 ft home. (no carpet though) Dyson makes a good product.

Powerful vacuum, battery not so much

The power of this vacuum is incredible, however the battery does not last long, This is a great vacuum for cleaning up small messes and Getting dog hair off the couches, but I seriously wish the battery had a longer run time.
