Not working

My dyson has stoped working now for the second time in a one month period. The first time it was diagnosed as a battery issue. It took almost 2 weeks to receive the replacement battery. The vacuum is still not working with the same issue. After another call to CS they indicated it was misdiagnosed and it needs a new motor. I am not waiting another two weeks for a replacement part. I would not recommend dyson simply based on the amount of time that it take to receive warranty parts.

Dyson v7 cordless Motorhead

My parents bought this as a house warming gift for me. Within the first 2 years of owning it I had to replace the battery. I was beyond disappointed that it completely died in such a short time. I did not over use. I only used on hard floors and 1 area rug. I gave it another chance and replaced the battery, for this battery to barely last a year. Beyond disappointed in this company and how they wouldn’t even help. I have since bought a different brand vacuum.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The absolute best vacuum!

I was a bit skeptical when i first ordered this vacuum and when I received it, i was still skeptical. Well, the proof us in the performance! This vacuum picked up dirt i didn’t see. Im hooked and cant stop using this toy! I recommend this machine to any person that wants to get rid of dirt the easiest way!

1st Dyson cordless

Bought this to replace a Bissell Icon pet. Initially I am very disappointed that the floor vacuum power heads do not have any lighting. When run on high suction, the performance is amazing but the battery life is very short. Overall I thought I was going to be dazzled but I am slightly underwhelmed with this vacuum. Also one of the felt strips on the smooth floor vacuum powerhead came off already. I did not receive a free product to facilitate my review.

The V8 provides up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on the mode or combination of modes/tools used. The machine is often set to max mode out-the-box, and the max mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes; it gives a total of 7 minutes of run time. The standard extended run high suction mode is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks and provides up to 40 minutes of total run time.

The Perfect Vacuum

This is my first Dyson, but I have used family members' vacuums and liked them. When I got a new place, I needed a new vacuum and a Dyson was the only choice for me. Couldn't be happier!

Great vac!

This is my third cordless Dyson vac and I am beyond thrilled! I chose to upgrade over the years because the cost of the replacement pieces exceeded the worth of the unit. I also own a Rainbow vac to which I have adapted a hose to accommodate Dyson accessories.
My last cordless vac needed a new piece and rather than pay a higher price to upgrade that part, I chose to just get a new cordless unit. I am so glad I did! What use to take 5 minutes using the old pet hair vac piece to vac up my long haired beauty’s fur now takes just a moment!!! Kudos Dyson!!!

Wanted to Love it Again

Bought this to replace an older V8 that finally would not hold a charge anymore. It lasted a long time so I was ok with replacing it. However, the new V8 will not vacuum my new rug in the living room. It does fine on our tile floors and the 2 rooms that still have carpet. But will not work on the rug, it won’t allow me to push with the rotary brush. The brush stalls out. I haven’t contacted Customer Service yet but did go through trouble shooting steps. Nothing is blocked! Very disappointed!

We're also disheartened to know that you're having issues with using this machine on your carpeted surfaces. If the brush bar stalls out while vacuuming, it's likely that the brush bar motor is sending your carpeting as an obstruction. Not Quite There

This is my second Dyson over the years and I am disappointed for several reasons.
-The vacuuming time barely makes 20 minutes without using Max the entire time. That is half of the advertised “up to 40 minutes”.
-The handle is not ergonomic, causing bruising and abrasion of my hand. The older V6 model did not do that. Dyson should replace or cover the hard plastic body about the handle with a softer material that has some give. I have wrapped with foam to be able to use while wearing a glove.
-It is easier to empty with focusing the bottom over the trash. However that pull latch is difficult to use while holding over the trash.
-The swiveling of the floor attachment is way to difficult to direct because the attachment keeps turning on its own, not where I am trying to direct it.
Do the designers get real people, especially older women, to try out a prototype before going to mass production?
The floor brush does a good job
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
