ABSOLUTE BEAT FOR DOG HAIR

I recently got this vacuum for my house and its multi-purpose is so useful you can use it for the couch the floor the carpet the car its amazing. I especially foudn it useful for my dogs hair for 3 years my dad would yell at me for not sweeping the foor well with a terrible broom thank you dyson :)))

Instructions are not great

The Dyson V8 is a very good vacuum, however the instructions leave a lot to be desired. They are somewhat vague. For a vacuum that costs as much as this one, I would think the instructions would be much clearer. Especially how to empty the container and reattach the head.
I would recommend this to a friend!

lightweight, vacuums well

Bought this for my 80-year old mother. She loves it. Lightweight to carry up and down stairs. Vacuums up dog hair. Very easy for her to use.
Running on high speed, the battery does not last very long - 15-20 minutes. Running at normal speed, entire house can be completed.
While battery life can be limiting at times, it is a very acceptable trade-off for lightweight, especially for elderly mother.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've got blisters on my hand now

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The handle is not comfortable and you have to hold the "on" button down the whole time. I've got big nasty blisters between my index finger and thumb. I would not buy this again or recommend this model. Does not glide nicely on carpet either. It does have great suction though.
This is my 4th Dyson vacuum. The 1st 2 were great, but last 2 not so much. I will not buy Dyson in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We would certainly not expect a blister to occur as a result of using your Dyson product. If you are finding this to be your experience, we would recommend holding the unit lower down the handle to prevent rubbing or pressure on the top of your hand. Please also keep in mind that Dyson cordless vacuums will feature a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. It may also prove helpful to ensure the unit is held with a firm, but not a very tight grasp, given that the light touch trigger does not require a very hard press or grasp to operate.

Noticeable Upgrade & More Stylish

Upgraded from the V7 which was a very impressive entry-level rechargeable vacuum choice. The V8 is far superior in its power, battery life & stamina. I love the LED Battery Life Indicator! Didn't have that on the V7. I am beyond happy!

Do not buy!

I received a non functioning vacuum to begin with. By the time I got all the parts replaced, i had had the vacuum for a couple months. It worked great for a while. But now it's losing suction. And because the roller bars are suction powered - they don't spin!!!! It is incredibly frustrating. I have taken it apart, cleaned it all, cleaned the filter. To no avail. The suction powered roller bar is THE biggest design flaw I have ever seen.
I would like to say, their customer service is amazing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quick and Convenient

Overall, I like the vacuum. It has good suction and it’s quiet. A few things I don’t like is that the way you have to hold down the button ALL the time and hand placement is uncomfortable. It also doesn’t roll as easy as I thought it would.
I would recommend this to a friend!
