Less suction power than my V6 Animal

The V8 has less suction power than my V6 animal, this is disappointing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey there, this is Kelly with Dyson. It's very unusual to hear that you're noticing less suction power on a V8, than a V6. V6 offers up to 20 minutes of run time, with 100 air watts of suction. V8 has up to 40 minutes of run time, with 115 air watts of suction power. We would be happy to troubleshoot any issues with you. I had vacuumed my hardwood floors and area rugs with our standing / wired vacuum the same day I got my Dyson. I couldn't believe all the doghair and dirt the Dyson picked up in its first use that the other vacuum had missed.

Best vacuum yet

So lightweight and easy to use. The attachments are so simple and for so many uses. The vacuum came with many attachments. It's so powerful and easy to transport. It swivels and reaches many Places easily.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought my vacuum 6 weeks ago. It is the best vacuum ever. Light weight, easy to assemble with great suction. The only con is I have to constantly hold the trigger while cleaning so my hand gets tired. Would definitely buy again and highly recommended.

Meh. Overpriced for what you get

PROS: Lightweight. Easy to move around. On MAX provides "okay" suction. (I don't have kids or pets, and am very clean. So once per week I used it to vacuum. It sucks up *most* of the dust, but it also just blows around the rest of it.)
CONS: Not good for getting into corners. Battery life is pitiful. After just two years, it finally stopped working altogether. Pulled out my 17-year-old canister vac, which works wonderfully--even though I hate hauling it around.
BOTTOM LINE: I'd buy another Dyson stick vac if it weren't for:
*The horrible battery life
*The high price for what you get. (I'd happily pay more if the battery lasted long enough to clean my entire house--which is only 1400 square feet and all hardwood flooring).
*The low quality. (I'd expect something this expensive to last more than two years.)
You're paying for fancy branding and name recognition--not quality. If I decide to try a stick vac again (I did love how easy a stick is to move around), I'll go with another brand that has better reviews on battery life and quality. Many companies now make stick vacs, so there are a lot of options.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

One think we love about our V8™ vacuums, as you noted as well, is how light in weight they are, and easy to maneuver around the home. Your V8 does have two modes of suction power. We find that regular suction is generally suitable for your everyday cleaning, and MAX can be reserved for those more stubborn messes or even larger debris where you might find you need to make multiple passes with the head or tool you're cleaning with. Cordless cleaning is amazing
