This is the best vacuum I’ve ever had. Very smart design, lightweight, easy to empty and powerful suction (two power levels from which to select). Charging port is smartly located for easy charging. Love the design and engineering thought put into this.

Very disappointed

About two weeks into using this vacuum cleaner, the power will turn on and off while I was vacuuming. Thought maybe it was me and the way I was holding the trigger. Couple weeks later it is clearly turning off and there’s something very wrong.
I called customer service and the man was sure it was my battery. I told him it was more likely the trigger mechanism, because it was turning on and off when the battery was full.
The new battery arrives, I install it, same problem.
Just got back to my home after hurricane IAN and I really could’ve used it. I’m in the hardest hit area. Very disappointed and will be sending it back for a full refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's always disappointing for us to hear when our technology doesn't live up to the expectations of a Dyson machine. It's very unusual to hear of the issue you're reporting here with your Dyson V8™ vacuum. If the trigger is held down, the machine should not turn on and off; power should remain steady. However, if the trigger is engaged and you hear a pulsing or revving on/off type sound, that would be indicative of a blockage in the machine, or dirty filters. Hate vacuuming, have built system, several handheld.. but cordless is the way to go… quite powerful but so easy to use … I am constantly vacuuming because outs so easy!!!

I hope Dyson will never discontinue V8

We have 3 Dyson V8 bought over last 5 - 7 years (maybe more ;-) . Why? Because it is washable, unlike all newer models or other bag-less vacuums. Over time cyclones part accumulates fine dust and it is good to wash it out. Next, its components are replaceable. Battery, cyclones, motor etc.any part that is worn out or broken can be replaced.

Love this vacuum, we have a Huskie so we have to vacuum daily. Love that it’s cordless makes the job faster I have tile floors and it gets under most furniture with the swivel action. I charge it right after using it. It has 2 speeds so I keep it on the lower speed and I can get the whole house with one charge. 2 bedrooms, office living room and kitchen and laundry room. I love it so much I just bought a second one. Very easy to clean the filters and reuse them. Easy to dump canister.

Great small vacuum sweeper!

This is a great tool if you have wood floors. Picks up dust in between crevices! The only downfall is the short battery life. When I use the V8 in maximum speed on wood floors the battery life is approximately 30 minutes. Then needs to recharge for several hours.

I love this vacuum. Love that it has great suction and is cordless. Easy to clean and the ease of getting rid of the waste. Very light for the amount of suction. Would purchase again.
