Great when it works

I love this vacuum, we have all hardwood floors and 3 pets and it really does a great job. My biggest upset with this vacuum is I have owned it a year now and the battery dies in half the time it used to. It also will be half charged and die, I’ll plug it into the charger for a second and it will go again. For a vacuum of this price it should have a better life.
I would recommend this to a friend!

With regard to the overall run time that you can expect, your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). Ruggable Friendly

I love my Dyson V8. I have an Animal Ball Upright that was too powerful for vacuuming my Ruggable carpets. I chose to buy the Dyson V8 as it is not as powerful as the newest stick vacuums. It works perfectly on my carpets. The added bonus is the ability to use just the hand-held vacuum for quick clean-ups. The Dyson V8 has been life-changing for me.

All my life I heard how great Dyson is and I finally purchased one last month and it is absolutely amazing. I vacuumed first with my vacuum and then immediately after used the Dyson. I was amazed how much dirt it pulled out. We were about to replace our carpet, but this gave new life to it.

Love this cordless vacuum! I feel like my stairs haven’t been this clean until vacuuming with this Dyson!! Easy to use for my daughter to do her chores with little complaining!!

After googling which vacuums were “the best” I settled upon this Dyson V8. I like this vacuum considerably more than my previous Hoover vacuum. However I did think that since the vacuum brand tends to be on the pricier side that the handling would be better and smoother, also the swivel could also be smoother. I would have also liked a carrying/storage bag for my accessories:(
Other than that 9/10

Second Dyson V8

This is my second Dyson V8. Just love this vacuum. It is so light and easy that it makes you vacuum more than you would with a regular machine. We have it mounted nicely in a convenient location so it’s easy to grab and go. I am totally amazed when I empty the cup, how much dirt and dust it collects. It’s amazing.

I just got the v8 for christmas.not a cheap item. The one thing I find not good is you have to hold the trigger the entire time there is nothing to lock it in place.not great if you have an ißue with your hands .I find it uncomfortable to hold the button the entire time I'm vacuuming. The pick up is OK I can not use the high power setting for carpet wish I could

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I can confirm that with our V8 cord-free machine, the trigger does need to be held down, in order to power the machine. Our new V12 models offer an on/off button, rather than a trigger. You should be able to use the MAX suction mode on carpeting, unless it's a thicker or more plush pile, in which case the suction may be too strong and the brush bar might also sense the carpeting fibers as an obstruction, which can cause the brush bar to stop spinning. Love it

I just got this last week and OMG I LOVE
I did a test I vacuumed, I mopped and my mop was not dirty at all like it usually is when I just sweep. We have three dogs and a cat and this picks everything up even all the dust. No issues with battery but my house isn’t very big. Worth it!
