I’m not sure if I got a dud, but I feel this Dyson model seems like cheap quality. I have an older model that seems made better than this better one. It is very loud & sounds cheap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The V8 machine, like all other Dyson vacuums, are made with ABS plastic, the same material in police riot shields. The V8 also goes through a rigorous testing phase so it can endure much more than the average drop and bump.
Out-the-box, the machine is usually set to max mode, which is a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes. This mode can be louder than the standard extended run high suction mode, which is to be used and ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Dyson for my son. I’ve had my Dyson for over a year And absolutely love it. My son tried mine and he loved it so I just had to buy him one for a gift. I don’t think I’d ever go back to using a corded vacuum again. I even love it to vacuum My car, it does a great job.

I’ve used it 3 times and I have to empty before I can finish a 768 sq foot condo with carpet in only living room and bedroom. It won’t spin. And what’s in it is like a thumbs worth of dust. And I’ve had to charge it before I can finish vacuuming this small space. There’s got to be something wrong with it. It’s supposed to be brand new.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awful run time! Feels a bit cheap as well.

I purchased this item because most of our clients have it being we own a design firm. However after using this particular machine it really is not that great. I can not even vacuum my entire first floor of home without better dying. The wand part seems cheap and flimsy. I since have returned this item.

Just what I needed for between vacuuming. Keep it in the laundry room where the cat's litter box is. Use this every day to pick up the tracked litter and for quick touch ups.
