Great vacuum

I love this vacuum. I was hesitant since it was battery operated and having tried several already that did not perform well, I was pleasantly surprised as to how well this one did. One negative, you have to hold the "on" button continuously to run the machine. But I would still give this an "excellent" rating.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well… rubs base of thumb raw… poor design.

The unit seems to work well. Battery life is 40 minutes and it finds all kinds dirt. We do not like the grip because it rubs a blister on knuckle of your thumbs. We will be returning the unit to purchase something else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We would certainly not expect a blister to occur as a result of using your Dyson product. If you are finding this to be your experience, we would recommend holding the unit lower down the handle to prevent rubbing or pressure on the top of your hand. Please also keep in mind that Dyson cordless vacuums will feature a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. It may also prove helpful to ensure the unit is held with a firm, but not a very tight grasp, given that the light touch trigger does not require a very hard press or grasp to operate. This lightweight vacuum cleaner makes cleaning fun! It is so versatile and dynamic! It feels like an alien ray gun with the king nose attachment. I highly recommend!

Great Vacuum for ALL floors

Had for 3 weeks and Love the pick up. Keep it on low power to conserve battery and works great. One small complaint is I have large hands and the opening where you place your had to operate the vacuum is tight and cramps my hand after awhile but not really a big deal. We have two dogs and one cat deal and this vacuum really does the job!! Very happy so really like to give it 4.5 stars overall.

Overall good vacuum.

The Dyson V8 is working out well for me. The suction power is good. It will spit out some bigger items like stink bugs on the vinyl flooring but if I go over it a few times it will pick it up. It does not scratch the vinyl or Laminate floors. I have a wee bit of trouble with the canister latch opening and closing but not bad. It does have to be emptied several times in vacuuming my 967 sq. ft. home and I live without pets and don’t make much dirt. I was disappointed my product did not come with the smaller hand held or crevice attachment. Only 2 attachments came with it - the rolling one for carpet and the dusting attachment. It is lightweight so I find it I don’t take my time and get in a hurry I am banging it around trying to get under furniture so I hope the plastic is well made and can hold up.

Absolute garbage

Used it one time. When I went to put it back in the cradle much of the very same dirt I just vacuumed came tumbling down the pipe of the vacuum and right back out onto the floor! Going right back to the retailer I putout from and never considering Dyson again. Stay away!
