Almost perfect

I love everything about this vacuum and all of the attachments. It’s dang near perfect. But the issue I have is enough to cost 2 stars. The battery dies way too quickly. 20 mins into vacuuming straight off the charger- dead.

This is my 3rd Dyson, replaced my V7 rather than buying a new battery for it. I’m sure the newer Dysons do a better job but for the price the V8 does all that I need it to do.

Powerful suction

Most powerful vacuum we have ever owned. Unbelievable what this thing pulls out of the carpet. Great on bare floors too. A little pricey and I had a hard time finding a place to hang it since it can't be stored in the garage, but I would certainly buy one again. I love the ability to go under furniture easily. Such a powerful machine.

This easy to handle gem of a vacuum is a game changer in portable cordless vacuums. It is relatively light weight, easy to maneuver and picks up the smallest dirt, pollen and hair.

Excellent except for lousy run time

From the first time I used this, fully charged, I have been appalled at the terrible battery life. The marketing said 40 minutes. I get 10, occasionally 15. Even more disappointing is the company’s failure to respond to my concerns. Other than that, it is a fun and user-friendly device. If they can send me a backup battery or simply replace this one with what they promised I would be delighted. But given the run time it actually has, I would not have bought it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Anna, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're so sorry to hear that you've been disappointed with the run time that your V8 provides. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool).
While the battery can be replaced should you ever need to, we do not recommend regularly swapping that out, as it can cause the small screws to become stripped over time. If you still have questions or concerns, you can get in touch with us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com.

Light and easy to move around

Powerful and easy to use and reach under furniture, only complaint is it does not come with a crevice tool. It does come with a multi tool that’s great for stairs.
I would recommend this to a friend!
