Lightweight so easy for carrying around house

Excellent hassle free cleaning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its easy to carry around..no wires and leaves the floor super clean. Unseen dirt gets pulled out. Having an incredible experience ever since I purchased it.

Cleans well poor battery life

Overall, the vacuum cleans well and came with multiple attachments which is great. However, the battery life is not terrific. Easy enough to charge but it seems as if the amount of time the battery last should be greater. I speak of this not while using the max function which I imagine would drain the battery even faster. Overall, it is a good Dyson product. I've had several.

Bought a second, same model for a vacation home. Same model but about 6 years newer. Because they are expensive I attempted to settle for an upright, after a couple of days I broke down and ordered the Dyson.
It’s a Dyson, what’s not to love!

Disappointing

The carpet attachment won't spin on normal pile carpets (not heavy or thick), particularly at high speed, rendering the vacuum useless for this purpose. The low speed setting affords only limited suction. High speed has tremendous suction; but drains the battery much faster. The "pet hair" attachment is good for stairs, but only on high. It easily stalls out if any pressure is applied. Takes some time to get the hang of the process to empty the collected dirt. It does pick up an amazing amount. Seems to be a solid build and looks like it will last. But overpriced for limited use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While the V8 works on both carpet and hard flooring, we're not able to test every permutation out there. Some machines, not just Dysons, may not be compatible with plush or shag carpeting. In this case, you would need to consult with your carpet maker to find out what machines would work best with their flooring. Most carpet makers will have advice on what machines are most compatible with your flooring, even down to brushbar and suction power.
The V8 does feature those two modes: extended run high suction and max mode. Max mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes and provides a total of 7 minutes run time. We do recommend using the extended run standard mode, up to 40 minutes of run time, as it's ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks and use the max mode as needed.

Even better than I expected

For our purposes-mostly hardwood and tile floors with a few larger rugs and carpeted stairs-this vacuum has been just about perfect. Compared to a previous cordless Dyson imitation as well as a lighter cordless from another brand, the Dyson V8 Absolute just plays the vacuuming game at a higher level. The pieces fit together and come apart smoothly, the two levels of power make it easy to adjust power level if more suction is needed for tough areas , and the many accessories cover any problem situations that I have encountered. It’s relatively lightweight, easy to use and does an impressive job. So far, after two weeks of very regular use, it has exceeded expectations.
