I don’t know why I haven’t purchased a Dyson vacuum before this. This has been life changing for me. I love all the attachments. The weight and ease to use is awesome. Best purchase ever.

V8 is good vacuum cleaner but battery backup is not so good. It drains off within 30 min of normal usage . So you need to plug in everytime you finish for one area.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback on Dyson V8. It is normal to have a 30 minute run time when using the motorized floor tool around your home. We recommend storing the machine on the charger so it's always ready to go when you need it. The Animal version can't deal with dog hair

I bought this because my son was so happy with his regular Dyson but the V8 Animal has been a disappointment since it came out of the box. Even with a full charge the suction is minimal--it will pick up dust and hair but not much else. Much worse, for a product specifically sold to people with pets the canister almost immediately clogs with pet hair at the intake with the rest of the chamber empty so you end up emptying it constantly. I now have a very expensive vacuum cleaner that I use to get spider webs out of the corners since it's not useful for much else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The V8 machine provides up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on the mode, or combination of modes, used. It comes with two modes: extended run high suction and boost mode. The extended run suction mode is ideal for majority of cleaning tasks. The boost mode is there for particularly stubborn messes that need a temporary boost of power, and lasts 7 minutes in total. The boost mode is not meant to be the main usage, and only when needed.
Depending on the cleaning task, some debris may catch other incoming debris, causing the build-up on one side of the bin. This is absolutely normal and no cause for alarm. We always recommend emptying the bin when near the max fill line, and depending on the task, the bin may need to be emptied more than once.

I bought the vacuum for small clean-ups (between whole-house vacuuming) and it’s absolutely great! The attachments work well and it does an awesome job at picking up cat hair. Totally recommend it.
