Battery Life

Hello, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thanks for sharing your review with us. Your Dyson V8 cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool). If you feel that your V8 might be malfunctioning, we do offer a two-year warranty on this product. Just reach out to our customer support at askdysonUS@dyson.com so we can help.

Can’t beat Dyson’s suction on a cordless!

Super happy with purchase, a little pricey but worth the money. Would of given it five stars but it needs to have led lights…then it’s perfect!

Better Than Previous Dyson

We bought the V8 to replace an earlier Dyson DC59. The V8 performs better overall, especially along the edges of walls and stairs. The motor head roller doesn't fill up with hair like the DC59 does, which is a big plus. However, the size of the larger motor head on the V8 doesn't fit under our cabinets.

Loving my new-to-me dyson

Absolutely love my new/refurbished dyson. It arrived clean and beautiful. It has way more power than my last one and it’s quieter, too! (I had my last Dyson stick vac for 10 years!) Versatile and perfect. It’s one of my absolute favorite appliances in my home.

Great for short cleaning bursts!

Excellent power and ability to draw up the finest of dust. The unfortunate downfall is the short battery length. Knowing this instead of trying to do the entire house I just do areas that need it and a little deep cleaning each time. If we could have a longer battery that would be amazing! Hanging it is easy, though the hanger only holds two tools and the vacuum comes with several more!
