The best for pet hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the absolute best vacuum I’ve ever used! It’s super lightweight, really powerful, and gets even the smallest little pieces of dirt and dust. The best thing about it is that it gets rid of pet hair on almost any surface. It seriously grabs every single hair. Even my long hairs are no match for this thing, and they don’t get tangled or wrapped around it at all. There’s lots of different attachments for whatever you might need, and the storage rack / charger combo is really convenient. The only thing that was a little tricky was trying to figure out how to empty the container of dirt, but that was my error. Overall, I’m so in love with this machine and would 10/10 recommend it to anyone with pets. It’s seriously THE BEST!

Perfect for the tile!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this product for a week now and I really do love it! The foam roller brush really is like magic on my tile floors. The regular roller brush has a built in comb-like thing to prevent hair for getting tangled and I think that works very well. There’s almost too many attachments but I really appreciate the flexibility that this product has. It is the perfect size to be stored away in the pantry and also doesn’t bother the dog as much as my regular vacuum.
To make one small complaint, the battery life could be improved. I get around a half an hour of use before it needs to be charged for several hours. I wish it could either have longer battery life or recharge more quickly. I really find myself using it a lot because I hate unwinding the cord for my other Dyson but it’s died twice on me in the midst of a clean up. Really an excellent product overall and I recommend to anyone with tile/hardwood/vinyl flooring!

Great Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really impressed with the vacuum's suction and run time. It is noticeably heavier than the V7 but the performance is noticeably better than the V7. I also think all the attachments make the vacuum very useful.

Needs an On/Off Switch!

Having to continuously grip the trigger is awful! Love the convenience and power of this vacuum, but it needs an on/off switch. Pressing and holding the trigger is ridiculous…and painful!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We wouldn't expect that to be painful, or the machine hard to hold. If you are finding this to be your experience, we would recommend holding the unit lower down the handle to prevent rubbing or pressure on the top of your hand. Please also keep in mind that Dyson cordless vacuums will feature a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. It may also prove helpful to ensure the unit is held with a firm, but not a very tight grasp, given that the light touch trigger does not require a very hard press or grasp to operate. Great vacuum as far as suction goes! Battery life is INCREDIBLY short though and the vacuum does not stand up on its own … which I find weird.

Extremely Versatile tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my V8 absolute about a month ago and it consistently amazes me with the attention to detail Dyson pays to their products. This device is no exception all the way from the cradle that charges the V8s battery to the array of attachments for this vacuum and they work so perfectly together. No matter what task you have to tackle Dyson has an attachment for it and when you’re done it tucks away so neat and tidy. The only thing I think can improve with this device is the charge time vs the usage other than that this thing is the whole package.

Great vacuum

One of the best vacuums -- if not the best -- I've ever used. Switching from corded to cordless is life changing (semi-sarcasm). The ONLY downside is the battery, which doesn't allow for an all-day cleaning session and is particularly quick to run out when using MAX mode. @Dyson: please, please, please, make future models have detachable batteries that can be charged separately, like any drill, jigsaw, etc. This type of vacuum (cordless stick) would be unbeatable if you could buy multiple batteries and switch them out when one runs out of juice.

Battery don't last.

Just got it brand new battery don't last any more and 30 Minute. You aren't gonna clean a small room with this machine batteries gonna go dead. Text 3 and a 1/2 hours to charge the battery poor charging system. If you use the power head it might last 15 minutes.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Your Dyson V8™ cordless offers two powerful suction modes - regular and MAX. MAX provides a boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode should not be utilized for your everyday cleaning, as it will only give you about 7 minutes of run time. Regular suction is generally suitable for every household, and gives up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized tool).
