We bought this about 3 weeks before Christmas when they went on sale. We had never been able to afford a Dyson but wanted to try. The V8 is perfect for us. It's light weight and we have a small home. We honestly expected to return it but when it arrived it saved so much time with the dog hair and dust that gets tracked in. Not having to plug in a standard vac and get it set up really helps!
I used it once and it left a blister on my thumb knuckle. So I returned it to Dyson.

I am happy with this vacuum. It has great suction power and has a more than adequate runtime. I am in my seventies and have arthritis but find the weight to be fine. We have a long haired dog that sheds constantly and the vacuum is up for the job. The dirt cup is easy to empty, even the dog hair comes out well. The only thing I wish was different, would be a light on the floor head would be nice.
We bought this to replace our first Dyson stick. This Dyson stick has great suction, cleans up everything on the bare wooden floors, carpets and tile. We have 2 floors, and we have never run out of power. It is light to use, push, pull and carry. It is very easy to clean out.
This is the 4th Dyson that I bought. It works great just the battery life doesn't live up to the Dyson name and high quality. That being said it is a great unit and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good vacuum
The machine is not even two weeks old. It does not have the power that it should and the battery life is terrible. I’m thinking this needs to be returned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
