Dyson V8 cordless vacuum does a great job ... then in 8 minutes the battery dies ... needing to be recharged ... spends much more time recharging than running.... no trigger lock requires someone with arthritis in their hands to tape or velcro the trigger ... bought an aftermarket trigger lock

This was an expensive purchase and only to find out it doesn’t even have a long lasting battery. And I don’t like how it’s bulky and can’t really fit under the couch and small places.

Paying this much for a vacuum made me hesitant. I read both the low and high reviews, hoping my battery wouldn't have issues. Unfortunately, even after fully charging it, the battery dies within 5-10 minutes on the low setting. Additionally, I’m having trouble with the trash chute—it’s difficult to open and close, almost like it gets jammed. I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but it’s really strange. If there’s a solution, I’d love to know. I had much higher hopes for this vacuum, but I’m not so sure now. If the battery lasted longer and the trash chute didn’t get stuck, it would be much better. Right now, I have to slam it shut, and it’s tough to pull it up to empty the debris. This was a big splurge for me. I got this vacuum and one for my sister as a gift. For that type of money put down I would love an answer as to why this is happening.

I love my V8 Absolute. This is the first stick vacuum I’ve had and it’s a god send being disabled. I am coming from a canister (turtle) vac that always banged into me and everything else. It was also to heavy for me at this point. The V8 is amazing. The two heads it comes with along with the attachments are great.
It unfortunately does have a short battery life. Using it on low lasted about 20 minutes for me. I am being sent a replacement battery since it’s supposed to last longer than that. I appreciate that.
But I would recommend this machine to everyone. Thank you Dyson for making my life much easier but saving me a lot of energy.
