Poor connectivity and variable performance - can't return but still switching to TP-Link hardware. Range is about half of the Netgear Orbi this replaced and the connectivity is inconsistent (dropped connections).

The Wyze Mesh Router Pro is very simple to setup, however don't let this simplicity fool you. It is an extremely robust solution. The units support a large number of concurrently connected devices. The speed is incredible, even at a distance. I appreciate having the three separate WiFi bands in addition the the ability to have an ethernet wired backhaul. The physical appearance is subtle and blends in / fades away in most environments.
Being a computer engineer, I’m pretty familiar with networking. I previously had a TP-Link AX10000 WiFi 6 Gaming Router and a TP-Link AX1500 WiFi Extender Internet Booster (RE500X). These were both highly rated/reviewed but I had continual issues. When it was working, it worked great but I had to reboot the router a minimum of once per day. I had previously done all the normal things like making sure it had the latest firmware, etc. and I had also adjusted various settings. I even had it set up on an automatic once a day reboot schedule in the middle of the night and that didn’t help either. It’s very possible I may have had a defective unit but it did work some of the time. Based on the size of my house, I decided to get the 2-pack of the Wyze Router Pro. I installed the Wyze base unit and the satellite unit in the same exact locations as the previous router and extender. For me, setup of the new Wyze routers was very seamless and quick and I decided to use the same exact SSID/password as the previous router setup. Having run various speed tests, the upload speeds with the new Wyze Pro routers is consistently 150-250mb/s faster compared to my previous router and that is with the same exact cable modem as before and with them installed in the same exact locations as the previous router/extender. I also do not have any dead zones in my entire house and that was not the case with my previous router/extender. Overall, I’m very pleased with the Wyze Pro routers but there are a couple of shortcomings. There are two reasons why I gave the Wyze Pro routers 4 stars: being a ‘Pro’ device’, I was disappointed to see some of the advanced router options/settings that are available. For example, advanced router settings common in other higher-end routers such as QoS (Quality of Service), etc. are either non-existent or very limited in the Wyze app today. I’m really hoping that Wyze adds these common/better advanced router settings/options in the Wyze app in the near future. The second reason is because the Wyze Pro routers run extremely hot. As many other reviewers have commented, it’s a very real issue and they run very hot - not just warm. Heat is a very common reason why any electronic device can have a shortened lifespan. The thermal solution for the Wyze Pro router should definitely be improved so that these devices last as long as possible. To help extend the life, I decided to buy a laptop cooling pad and place it directly under the Wyze Pro router and the cooling pad fan is running 24x7. For now, the laptop cooling fan is definitely helping reduce the temperature of the Wyze Pro router (at least from a physical touch standpoint). But I should not have had to buy/install this for a brand new ‘Pro’ device from Wyze. If Wyze could add some additional common/advanced router settings in the app and if they could resolve the thermal issues, I would give this 5 out of 5 stars. I will say that regardless of my technical opinion, the most compelling thing is that since installing these two Wyze Pro routers in my home, my family has not complained once about our Internet/WiFi and I have not had to reboot the Wyze Pro routers once since they have been installed.
Now that I finally got the routers working, they seem to work fine but the setup was a nightmare. The installation did not work properly and even seemed to take out my cable modem for a while. I finally got it working and it’s been stable ever since. I thought the admin features would be better than they are, and the parental controls are not particularly robust. The units are extremely HOT, which is a little concerning. I’m not disappointed enough to go through the hassle of returning them and dealing with installing a new router but I’m definitely not enthusiastic about them.
It wouldn't hook up to my internet, had to return it

I purchased the pro hoping that it would replace my very old apple base station router and repeater, however the range was nowhere near what my former router could produce and I am unable to use it to get the coverage that I need. Had I know the signal strength would be so weak, I would have purchased the 3 unit set. Very disappointed!

Extremely fast and reliable system. Two units have adequately serviced our 5,000 sqft home. Note: you have to have a separate modem in order for these to work, if you have a modem/router combo, you can still use the wifi signal from your original router.
I’d love to see an exterior unit in the future, we have a 1 acre portion of our property that I’d love to have covered by wifi to allow for things like a speaker system.
