Good value 6E mesh router. Straight forward setup but required using advanced settings after initial setup to use bridge mode. The heatsink on the bottom is hot (125 degrees F) so ensure it has free airflow.
I purchased this router to replace an older Netgear model that had issues dropping 2.4g connections. Setup was straight forward with a few issues getting through the setup process as Bluetooth would not connect to my Samsung Galaxy Note 20-5G phone or Samsung tablet. It took several attempts before it connected. Most of my devices connected with no issues and other devices had to be rebooted to find the new IP address.
The big disappointment was the USB port. I purchased the Pro version for the intent of connecting my 4TB USB network drive to it as I did with the old Netgear router. To my surprise the USB port does nothing. There is no option in the phone app or on the computer for use of the USB port. Doing a search online shows several comments that the USB port for mass storage was suppose to be part of the router when launched but has not been added to the firmware. Now I have to connect the drive to a computer and leave it on all the time so other computers will have access to it. Not good Wyze.
So far the main router and satellite have performed well. No dropped connections so far on the 2.4g side. I have over 40 wired and wireless devices in the house. Another thing I noticed is that the 5G does not show up as an option with searching for a WiFi connection. Only the 2.4g signal shows up on any of my devices. So I can not manually connect a device to the 5G. The router will randomly assign the 2.4 or 5G signal to a device. Not good hear either.
The wired and wireless speed seems to be on par with my old Netgear router. No better, no worse. My wired devices are connected to a Gig switch from the Network port on the back of the main router with no issues.
Overall it works, does its basic job of connecting and supplying a signal to my wireless devices. The app needs to be improved, it needs to show the 5G signal so you can manually connect to it and more options on the PC side. Just basic information using a computer to connect to the router.
Routers were easy to set up and operate. Wireless coverage is excellent, covering my entire property with two units. Router performance is not as advertised—I had a 2GB connection and the routers couldn’t do much over 1. I slowed my speed to save money. Router software also lacks reliable port forwarding. I’ve set it up, and see it in the admin, but I can’t get it to actually work. I wish it had a web interface because doing this on mobile device is a pain. Performs waaayyy better than eero but still needs advanced functionality.
I can't say enough about how easy these routers were to set up and how outstanding the throughput is. Before I bought these I was getting only 90 megabit download speeds. I am now getting 500 MB download speeds with the same internet service
