The only way this could get a 5 is if all I had to do was plug it in and it automatically set itself up, that did not happen so 4 is the best, and that did nit happen, because I had to call and get tech support help. I reviewed the neg reviews and called tech support as soon as I started the install process, believing I would run into an issue with the setup. After navigating the error messages or issues with getting the links to work I ran into an issue that did not align with the instructions and the provided link would not work. This was about the same time as my 20 minute "on hold" ended and living person answered the tech support line. Tech support explained it was known issue and had me restart, and walked me through the correct path. I expect no issues for at least the 2 year design to fail period :-).

Difficult to get connection to internet

The router was very difficult to get to initially connect to the internet. Once connected it works great.

Terrible software

The thing keep asking for password and when given correct password would not except. Had to reboot all the time. Returned and got a awesome ASUS FOR SAME PRICE and worked flawlessly after 5 minute setup.

The app not longer sends the alerts to my phone. Cannot connect my husbands phone to the wifi. Never got through to a live person in Customer service after 4 tries and extended hold times. Works just fine for everything else in the home.

Faulty on arrival

Installed this brand new router and updated software without any issues. However, router wireless connection kept breaking intermittently. This is not an issue if you just watch Netflix but a big problem for active connections such as video calls. NETGEAR tech support people were willing to help but not able to. After 4 calls and countless setting changes and resets they blamed it on ISP. However, the wireless provided by ISP (which we had to turn on after the NETGEAR modem failed) works without issues. Sending the router back. It looks great but does not work.

Great range

This replaced an older router and some range extenders and is a massive improvement of what we had previously. All of our devices work well with a night Hawk and we are very pleased
