Good Inside, Not Out

Recently purchased a 3,500 sq ft home. Our Quantum Gateway router worked fine inside the home but died as soon as you stepped out the door. Wanted to upgrade the range so we could use wifi on our deck/garage and purchased the Nighthawk X6S based on the boasted range/coverage area. It works fine in the house, good speeds, but not really any different than what we had already. Outside we were able to get about 5 feet from the house before the signal dies. Definitely not as wide-ranged as advertised.

DoS ATTACKS ON THIS ROUTER AND ZERO HELP

I wish I could leave negative stars! I purchased this product less than a year ago, and purchased a Netgear modem at the same time. I paid extra for the extended tech support. I do not have a cell signal at my house and use wifi calling. My wifi would buffer and cut off every day throughout the day, and I found out a few weeks ago that the cause is a DoS attack on my router. It's not my modem, that's been verified. After countless calls and hours on the phone, changing settings, resetting to factory settings and a replacement router that was supposed to be new but was used and has the same issues, I am still stuck with a piece of junk, a technical support department that has taken over a week to find out if a new product is in the warehouse to replace my current product, no reliable wifi and nobody that seems to know what is happening (is this a firmware issue, allowing DoS attacks?) or how to resolve this issue. I've even tried calling the corp office and left a message on the receptionist voicemail, spoken with a sales rep for a different product, nobody knows how to get this taken care of and nobody really cares to look into this issue. I regret buying this product and have zero faith in this company and their circus.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality

Had to return the second one, both developed faults in the first 6 months, changed to a different make, hope they get the Quality issues sorted

Router is big.. App doesn’t work

I was very disappointed with this router. I bought it for the parental options and hoping we would get better coverage throughout our house. Service still isn’t great and the only way to keep up with parental settings is an app that doesn’t work.
