It does well, but it seems to be hard to pick up by the cell phones across the house, and it is only a 1400 sf home.

Living in todays overcrowded wireless world isp supplied routers and most soho routers seem to be overwhelmed with interference. I recently moved my office to an annex on my house to find even after adjusting channels there was simply no signal. I bought this hoping to make sure my work and play pcs both worked well. Instead of 25 Mbps of bandwidth available as found with the ISP device I’m getting about 250 Mbps here and the full 500mbps in the main home. As a network engineer I’ve seen enterprise grade hardware perform far less satisfactorily than this did even before adjusting channels. Great purchase.

Superb equipment for its price!

I purchased my Netgear Nighthawk AC4000 a month ago to maximize my internet connection in my new apartment. Set up was a breeze through the nighthawk app, and configuration was self explanatory while still giving plenty of options for customization. The AC4000 comes default with one 2.4ghz and two 5ghz networks which has allowed me to take full advantage of my streaming devices over Wi-Fi will leaving room for my smart lights to be on their separate channel. All in all I am super pleased with this router and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to ditch their current router!

Both Wired and Wi-Fi is not up to its advertised specifications. Comcast’s Modem(XB-7) outperform In both wired and Wi-Fi configuration. At a registered speed of 600mps, the Nighthawk achieves 120mps for Wi-Fi(2.4 & 5) and unstable speed of 400-600mps Wired. Meanwhile the Stock modem from XB-7 achieves 400mps for Wi-Fi(2.4 &5) and 600+mps wired. **To make things worse, Activating the trial Armor security drops the speed down to 20-40mps for Wi-Fi. And Activating the built-in Circle(parental control) renders the router useless.
The only upside is the range capacity.

We needed a router with ReadyCLOUD, which all netgear routers should have. We have gamers and stream everything. Doesn’t skip a beat. Nighthawk app is good and easy to use.
