great for going through walls

This is great if you need your wifi to work through walls - i had my router in a little smart tech closet which wasnt good for my wifi - once i installed this new router, my internet speed was almost triple what it was.

I am very pleased with this product. My son can now watch videos and play video games at the same time. He is a happy which makes me happy. Especially at these trying times being quarantined in home this product allows us unlimited access to the outside world.

I recently replaced an older router because we had more devices in the house using streaming functions, and it was noticeably faster. Excellent device, and was easy to set up too.

Signal stronger but range not improved

Thought this would solve the dead areas in our home.I bought a Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri-band Wi Fi Router and installed it to my Frontier Fios Modem. Moved both to top of cabinet, (from inside bottom) in front corner of house because that's where the Frontier cable is so can't move to center of house. My wi-fi signal is stronger but the upstairs back bedroom and downstairs back room (kitchen) had very little improvement. I want to put a smart tv in the back bedroom to at least stream. I have a google home nest I'd like to stream food network on in the kitchen. I don't know if it makes a differnce but my home is a 2 story, high ceiling, wood structure and the kid next door has video games on 20 hours a day. Any suggestions? Is there another extender I can get that will work with the Nighthawk to help with the back room problems? Should I return this router and buy a different one? I'm not very techie but I'm trying. Thanks so much for any help. Can't call for physical help in this time of isolation. Be safe all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mothership has landed

The nighthawk is a fairly big router. You will need a good spot for it as it roughly the size of a dinner plate. This is probably the only complaint that by have about it. Being able to go in and specifically block or limit certain devices has been my favorite part. I replaced an old ASUS shark fin type router that was able to keep up with the number of devices.
