It was time for an upgrade and the Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri Band router clawed all other competing routers out of the sky. Set up was a breeze, resulting to the fast screeching speeds promised on all devices connected for both wired and wireless.

With a household of 6 who all stream between iPads and xboxes, it is very efficient. I have at least 20 devices hooked to this router and everything loads quick.

works well, but missing some important features

Setup was simple, signal is strong, much better than the last one I had.
Issues:
1) no https for admin
2) have to pay extra for meaningful Parental Controls (lame)
3) Edit feature of connected devices is clunky - edit button scrolls off page, and it opens a new page. See how Asus does it for a good way to achieve name edit. (I have one as a slave router)

I wish I had done some more research may not have bought this one if I had known about the first 2 issues, but other than those it works well.

A friend told me to get this model. He can make wifi calls from out in the middle of the street in front of his house. That did it for me. Now I can do the same! So much better than my 5 year old router.

The Nighthawk R8000P, improves the drop or lock on my wi-fi. I have 12 devices that did not have consistent access to the internet. Now, I have full coverage wi-fi throughout my house with several of the devices doing streaming. Extremely, happy with the product.
