Excellent purchase

We live in a rural area and struggle with slow internet. While he plays xbox we struggle to watch our streaming television. My son talked me into upgrading hoping a new router would help. I am not going to say it fixed all the problems as the slower internet can't be fixed but he is able to play his games with less glitches. We can stream our television programs and we were able to do away with an extender needed for my mother in law who lives in a tiny house next door. She can now pick up internet straight from the router. Well worth the money.

High quality router

Great router. I get the best signal when I disable smart connect and use 3 individual SSIDs with beam forming and MU-MIMO enabled. I am currently getting speed tests over wireless of 270mbps over the 5ghz channels, which is the entirety of my bandwidth. No hiccups after getting it properly configured. If you have problems with dropping wireless signals, be sure to experiment with different channels and moving devices to different bands before returning the product or contacting support. Made all the difference for me. Thanks Netgear for a great product!

Home network upgrade to NETGEAR AC4000 X6S

It was time to improve our home network, and since we had great performance from our NETGEAR Wireless N Router 2000, and because we wish to have excess network capacity to grow into, we chose the above-mentioned unit with its fast speeds, NU-MINO capability, and support for our legacy devices. While we are new to this technology, upon installation, we immediately saw enhance performance - I particularly liked the easy installation, and the network monitoring Genie. I'm looking forward to learning our router's full capabilities in action. Hope this note helps.

Installation of AC4000 Router

Overall performance of the router is very good and more than expected at purchase. However, the documentation lacks somewhat for details instructions on how to handle any problems due to out dated firmware versions in the product at purchase. It seems the router is shipped with generic software and must be upgraded before it will work properly as instructed in the documentation. After this is completed the router works as detailed in the docs. Again, more than happy with the router after upgrade. But no mention of upgrade required in the docs. Thanks Netgear.

Exceptional, very happy customer

My wife and I built a home 10 years ago. Our Wi-Fi never worked any good, had the cable company out many times, yet constantly in and out of a signal. A friend of mine suggested NETGEAR Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri-Band WiFi Router (R8000P). I Purchased this Router,had a friend of mine come over and install it. Wow the Internet works fantastic, I've never ever had such a strong signal to all of my devices. If only I had thought about Purchasing a NETGEAR10 years ago. My home has approximately 3,000 ft finished basement and 3,000 ft upper level, ranch style home.

Huge Improvement

I often questioned my ability to get the 100mbs from my provider as it just didn't seem to work that fast. When I upgraded from my Apple Airport Extreme I was amazed that I final was getting the speeds I had been paying for! My only real complaint is the size of the unit...in comparison to my old Airpot Ext. it was almost twice the size. Range is great, easy set up for devices, great interface software that allows you to see everything that is going on. Overall I would recommend the product, especially if your old router is over 5 years old (AC technology vs. N).

Great Router

I had long wanted to add a router to my ATT modem. I have a two story house and the ATT modum/router just wasn't cutting it. After adding this router the WiFi through out the house on both floors and my outside Ring cameras are working flawlessly. We are also gamers so this was an awesome add to our network. Games online run with out any glitches. We also stream quite a bit of stuff. We have at anyone time around 21 devices on our network and the router manages all the traffic without any traffic jams. So if you need a router this one is far sure what you are looking for.

Pairs nicely with the NETGEAR AC1900 Extender

I recently purchased this Nighthawk AC4000 (R8000P) to replace an aged 2013 Apple Time Capsule and needless to say, this thing is blazing fast and offers better range. I have the 1Gbps package, so this model was my only option to maximize my service. I have this paired with the AC1900 (EX7000) extender and I can clearly see dramatic improvement throughout my entire house and even in my front and backyard! If you're looking for the ultimate performance and want to extend that performance, I suggest pairing this item with their top of the line extender, the AC1900 as well.
