Great mesh routers but could be easier to setup.

Works great but was a bit difficult to setup beyond basic wifi. These have some great features like VPN, file serving from attached USB storage, and additional security capabilities. But the app based setup and the quick start guide are pretty focused on just the wifi features.

I own many Asus products so when it was time to upgrade my home WiFi, I decided to buy the XT9 WiFi Router to to replace my Netgear Nighthawk system. After the ease of setting up the Asus system, I noticed immediately the speed and high performance. I am glad I did not purchase a Netgear replacement. So far so good with the Asus product. Kudos to another well made innovative and state of the art Asus product.

Indeed, the coverage of this ZenWIFI is up to 5700 sq. ft. To resolve a weak WIFI signal, check if the Mesh routers are within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, and your ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Place the routers in a central location within your home, away from walls and obstructions, keep it elevated off the floor and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Furthermore, update the firmware if the routers are running with an older version. The most current firmware version is posted at: https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/whole-home-mesh-wifi-system/zenwifi-wifi-systems/asus-zenwifi-xt9/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-ZenWiFi-XT9.

Replaced my older Eero mesh as the XT9 price was right. Performance without a wired backhaul was very good (700Mbs wifi download). Adding ethernet backhaul on 1st AIMesh node 2.5 Gbs port increased wifi to router speeds to over 2Gbs on wifi! Great performance for the price compared to Orbi! Easy setup with ASUS Router phone app and more comprehensive web GUI too!
