Great Vent Hood for the Money

I have had this unit installed for a week now and am impressed. From opening the box to find very sturdy and protective packaging (as compared to other "Z" products I have had major issues with). The construction of the vent hood is solid, was very easy to configure for a top ventilation set up. Please to see that it came with wired with a three prong plug and ample cord length to reach the outlet. While the 36" unit wasn't able to perform the red cup trick as online, even at high speed, it does remove steam and vapors very well. It is much quieter than the "Z" model I had before without creating a lot of eddy currents. I will update this review in the future and hopefully give it a full 5 stars.

Powerful Ventilation with a Sleek Look

I’ve been very happy with my Hauslane PS18 36″ range hood overall. It has a clean, modern look and feels solidly built, and most importantly, it actually moves air — smoke, steam, and cooking odors clear out much faster than with my old hood, even on medium speeds. The dishwasher-safe baffle filters make cleaning simple, which is a big plus. The LED lights are adequate but a bit warm and not extremely bright, and the fan can get noticeably loud at higher speeds, though lower settings are much more comfortable for everyday use. The touch controls take a little getting used to, but once you do, they’re fine. Overall, it’s a strong performer with great ventilation and easy maintenance, with only minor trade-offs in noise and lighting.

Great product at an attractive price!

I bought a UC-PS18 about three years ago for a house we renovated, and I have loved using it. So, I just bought another one for a house we are building. It looks great and functions flawlessly. I especially like the filter vents, which are simple to remove and fit into the dishwasher easily for cleaning. Alternatives to this unit cost more than double.

UC-PS18 - 30" / Stainless Steel works very well

I purchased the UC-PS18 - 30" / Stainless Steel to replace a microwave/range hood combo that was over my stove. I hired a handyman to remove the existing microwave range hood and do the installation and the process was very smooth and took about 2 hours. The range hood has multple settings and operating it on setting 3 or 4 is not too loud and gives a very good amount of suction. In the past, when I boiled water in a pot on the front burner the steam from the pot would travel all over the cabinetry. On fan setting 4 with this Hauslane unit, all the steam is effectively sucked into the range hood (the suction power is much better than what I was experiencing with microwave range hood). The baffle filters are very convenient to remove and can be cleaned in a dishwasher. I really like the stainless steel look and it comes also with a LED light to illuminate the cooking area.

Strong suction and sleek design
