[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this sewing and embroidery machine! The machine is pre loaded with about 150 embroidery patterns, 250 stitches and 10 different fonts. You get a 3 month platinum membership to mysewnet. This enables you to access thousands of designs with some editing capabilities. There is a 7 inch touchscreen so you can what you are sewing or embroidering. The automatic needle threader helps get you stitching quickly. This machine is awesome.

Let me just say the quality is not there like my Futura 550XL or My Quintet. This machine has a MUCH smaller foot print making it almost impossible to thread the needle manually. Among other things. And it weighs about half of what the previously mentioned machines do,due to all the plastic. Not happy at all. :-(

Very different from previous embroidery machines

It’s a nice machine. It stitches very good. Easy to thread. Easy set up with the exception of Sewnet. I have tried multiple times to creat an account but just get error messages. I don’t like that it only has small hoops. The hoop is about 5x7. No additional hoops (larger) are available. I also don’t like that you can’t connect it to a computer. You can only use a USB drive or the included designs. I have so many designs on my computer that I will have to put on a usb drive to be able to use. It is just inconvenient. I do like that they have removed the anchor stitch. All in all I think it is going to be a good machine.

The Singer SE9180 is a good machine for someone just starting out in embroidery for a hobby. Be aware that the largest hoop size is only 100mm x 170mm therefore you are very limited as to the size of your designs/projects. There are no larger hoops compatible with this machine and Singer has no plans to make a larger hoop. I wish I would have gone to a store and talked to an experienced salesperson before my purchase. I am so disappointed that almost every design that I want to make, it is always just a bit larger than my largest hoop.

Horrible, do NOT buy!!!

I bought this machine about a year ago, haven't used it much until recently. Please, for the love of God, save your money, or find a different machine. I have used several Singer Sewing machines in the past and have loved them. This one, straight trash. I have been trying to embroider some logos for my father's business onto jackets, I got through two jackets and they were absolutely perfect, had no issues. Onto the third jacket, I got the pleasure of ripping the embroidery out FOUR times, the machine for some reason has a mind of its own, it started stitching my satin stitch up-and-down (vertical) rather than side-to-side (horizontal) all of a sudden - the embroidery design has zero up-and-down stitches needed in the area that it decided it should start doing that. I changed the thread, cleaned the machine, turned it off for an hour, changed the needle, made sure my bobbin was okay, and after all of that, it still does not work properly. I had the logo done professionally and they created the file so I just put that into the machine which worked perfectly, I honestly do not know what else could have been done to fix this situation, but it is seeming like I should just throw this machine in the trash and start over with another brand. Please, do not get this, if I could return it, I would.

Amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it so much, it’s such a joy to use, and a big step up from what I’m used to. The big 7” touch screen is amazing, it simplifies so many things, making it super easy to choose between different stitches, to going onto Mysewnet.com and searching for lettering and designs. As it is Wi-Fi connected you can even signup right on the machine. Also it updated its firmware on setup so I’m guessing that will help keep it running nicely. The auto threading works like a dream, very handy as I struggle with nearsighted things. The embroidery hoop is a really nice size perfect for what I’m creating. Swapping the sewing base and embroidery base is very easy too, and even gives you instructions on the screen if you forget to raise the needle. It comes with tons of accessories, different feet, bobbins, maintenance tools etc. I found it so easy and nice to work with, I’m so happy (and my mother-in-law is so very jealous), you won’t be disappointed.
