VERY Disappointed

Got my machine three weeks ago. Heard it had a powerful motor and automatic threader. Both claims are false. Does not sew through multiple layers. Automatic threader was a joke to begin with==stone knives and bear skins--and it quit working a week ago. I spend more time wrestling with the machine than sewing. Do not fall for the hype. This is an awful machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome upgrade, so many possibilities! I've been fighting with 2 vintage machines from my childhood, repairing and replacing parts and fiddling with screwdrivers at each sewing session, just general frustration. This machine sews laps around my old ones. So many stitches, so many options, so many layers. :) I loved that it was threaded so i could test it right out of the box! Easy and awesome. I just wish there was a recycling program for the old machines...

Handles nicely, love the speed control, auto cutting, and weight of machine. My first project with it was alternating a amigo horse coat to fit a Great Dane. It was able to handle the thickness of the fabric with the binding and attaching the webbing back with the Velcro. I took it into school for my students to try and they loved it. I’m hoping to see if the school will purchase some for me next year. We had some of the old school models from the 1970’s.

love this machine

I learned to sew on a singer treadle machine. That was the first machine that my Grandmother had. After that it was always a singer. I have the 4452, one and one plus. I am a seamstress and I do a lot of work on heavy fabrics and I work with a lot of denim. The 4452 is great but I got tired of taking it back and forth from work to home so I bought the 6800c> I love the features it is just what I needed with all the electronic features. It sews the denim with no hesitation and the stitches are even and the same on both sides. It has so many convenient features that when I go to work and use the 4452 I miss them. I use all 4 of my machines, but the 2 heavy duty ones are used constantly every day. I probably sew at least 10 hours a day. The 6800c is a work horse and having the thread cutter, needle up or down and all the others is wonderful. It is very easy to use and I have not had any problems. I now need a heavy duty serger for denim and am looking at the singer ones. I have a very expensive other brand and am very disappointed in it. not good with denim. All I know is this machine is wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone. You won't be disappointed. this is a workhorse and great for all fabrics and especially denim. you want a machine I would always look at singers. great quality machines and very reliable. The only thing I have been disappointed in is that the manuals do not come with them. I have very aware of our environment but that is something I feel should come with them.

I haven't had time to use it much but I did patchwork on a quilt and love the machine. The option for cutting the thread is one of the best features. The time saved is great. The locking thread option is great.

I love using this machine, about a year old

I bought this a little over a year ago. I loved using it right out of the box. It has all the features I use every day. I make purses and quilts on it. I think it is heavy duty named because it gets extensive use and it also does heavy duty projects, goes right over those heavy seams which is one of my favorite things about it.
