This is my very first sewing machine and I absolutely love this machine so far. Easy to use and simple yet powerful.

Excellent Machine

I bought this as my first machine after using my friend's old brother machine from the early 80s. The upgrades are insane. It's super smooth and quiet. It ties off the thread and automatically chops off the excess when your done with just a button press. People say sewing is hard but this machine makes it quite simple. The only downside that I could find is the placement of the sticker that tells you how long you should use your needles before changing them. It's placed on the metal plate next to the bobbin assembly. It is not easy to get off and leaves a sticky square where it was placed.
Ive been sewing masks for a year now, over 5,000 personally. I just bought this because I need a heavy duty machine. I cant believe how fast it is! I love that is has a start/stop button for sewing rather than stepping on the pedal and it has a button for cutting the thread leaving about 1". I tried the monogramming but haven't figured out if I can make it bigger. Going to try the different stitch patterns next. I did download and print out the manual which is a great help. Overall im loving this machine!
It is bunching thread at the bottom of the fabric no matter how much I adjust it.
Really disappeared at it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re so sorry that the Singer Heavy Duty model 6800C sewing machine did not meet your expectations. Please help us to improve by providing more information on your experience by emailing our Customer Care team at talktous@singerco.com.
I bought the Singer HD 6800C sewing machine for myself for Christmas. I wanted to buy this machine during the COVID shut down when my old machine broke but it was sold out. I ended up buying a Ja**me HD machine. It's a good machine for basic items but I needed one that could handle denim and also have a lot of stitches without having to hook up to a computer. This machine does that and more. It's super easy to use, seems to be very well built and the instructions are easy to follow. After having it for a month now, I would recommend. It sews really good and is definitely user friendly. The only thing I would say Singer could improve is to include a user manual. That is not included. It must be downloaded on the computer and printed off. No big deal but come on, included the manual.
I am very happy with my purchase (HD6800C). I bought this model because it has the stitch speed option and I just love it! I love the price for what I get and can only say one thing I did not like is the color, sorry but wished it came in the new black. Everything else I think is great!

I just put this machine through the ultimate test. I made one of my multi layer denim handbags with it. It sewed beautifully. It's a keeper

Not nearly as flexible as I expected

I bought this machine three weeks ago. I sewed one item on it, and decided to repair my 20 year old Husqvarna rather than continue with the Singer. The maximum stitch length is a measly 4.5mm for a handful of stitches, and a tiny 3mm for the majority. My old machine is 6mm for all stitches. The feed dogs are placed too far back on the foot to effectively start at the edge of the fabric. The free arm doesn't have enough space underneath for fabric to pass freely. Also, the "high speed" is limited to a handful of stitches. Most stitches max out at a much lower speed.
This is a decent machine for the price, and a good machine for newer sewists. But if you're used to a higher-end machine like I am, this is not a good substitute.
