It looked just what I needed.

The 6800C looked like it was the perfect sewing machine for me. Unfortunately looks like the quality control of the 6800c made it so it did not work for me. I needed to return the first machine that was shipped to me due to the top thread getting wrapped around the bobbin in the middle of a stich, also the machine popped circuit on my surge protector a couple times. Custom service at Singer has to be one of best there is to work with. They arranged for a replacement. I received the second machine and was a real joy to work with, that was until I needed to do some button holes. First two came out really nice but after that it only sewed tiny button holes. Worked with a very nice customer service agent but was unable to fix the issue. If there was a service center any ware close to me I see if can be fixed and if I did not need button holes I might keep the machine but after two machines it looks like I need to look for a different sewing machine.
This is my 2nd sewing machine and my 2nd singer sewing machine. I am enjoying it very much. It has a lot of bells and whistles compared to my singer from 30 yrs ago and I'm putting it to the test. I feel this heavy duty machine will more than fill my needs of what I put my older machine through, Mardi Gras costumes, dance recital costumes, etc. Still getting used to it, but love it so far. Wouldn't trust any other brand.
I waited so long to finally have my dream sewing machine. I love the ease of going from heavy to light fabrics. I’ve seen garments, crafts and all with ease. My only wish is that they t came with manual. Some of us are old school and like paper manuals.

I Love It But

I love the way it sews right out the box. I don’t like the cut thread feature on this machine it’s actually wack. But the Machine is smooth. It’s much lighter than the older heavy weight.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor quality control

I was excited to upgrade to this model from a 4452. Once I got it, I set it up and quickly found that the pedal didn't work. The issue turned out to be the connector on the machine - the connection is so flaky that the pedal would only work with the jack in a specific orientation; any wiggling will cause it to fail. Interestingly, other brands do have a pedal detector with a little sign on the display when a pedal is connected, which would have made troubleshooting easier. I did test this (button-operated) machine briefly, and found it unable to cut the thread I was using with the 4452. So much for "100% tested for sewing by our experts" - this should not have passed quality control. If you intend on buying this machine, wait for a sale; it is definitely not worth the MSRP.

Disappointed

I bought this a year ago as I had been sewing on my mom's 1958 Singer. I have been so disappointed. I had to stop using it as everytime I did I had problems with the bobbin case. I pulled it out again recently to do some button holes and same thing. The thread would catch, the bobbin case came loose. I'd open it up, reset the case and try again with only the same issue. Along with a blinking message on the display that I could not find the meaning of. I spent a lot of time trying to problem solve using the manual and YouTube. In the end, I pulled out the Singer Slant machine in all it's antiquity and had no problems.

Exactly What I Was Looking For

I was looking for a machine to sew denim with ease. This machine does just that. It also sews through quilt sandwiches with grace and ease. The features are what makes the machine. I really like the drop feed and the tie off feature.
