I bought this for my wife a short time ago,the first time she used it she lowered the feed dogs and when she went to raise it they wouldn't raise, luckily I found a youtube video of how to get the feed dogs to raise,I had to gain access to the bottom feed dog mechanism and manually push the feed dogs to the up position. I was very close to sending this brand new machine back. Apparently this is a common design flaw with these newer machines and in my opinion there is no excuse for this bad design. Time will tell if this will be a problem in the future or if we run into other problems.I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone at this point. Singer needs to find a good fix for this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve only had the machine two weeks, and done a few simple projects. I used to sew an occasional dress or skirt but haven't used a machine for decades. It feels very good to have a sewing machine again. This machine is very easy to use. Very easy to fill the bobbin and thread the needle with the automatic needle threader. Very nice stitching. Love the variety of stitches and the ways you can adjust the lengths etc. Very nice to have the seam ripper and other accessories included. Easy to take the foot off, easy foot pedal. Love the included deck. The machine is lightweight but seems sturdy. (I could barely lift my mother's old machine.) All adjustments are there in front of me, easy to see. So I can't speak to durability. I hope to get many good years out of this machine. I'm not a quilter but this machine looks good for that purpose, so maybe I'll try it. Not so great: there is glare on the chrome metal plates from the machine's light, which makes it hard to see the needle area, hard to read the edge guide. I use a little task light on it to see better. Also I couldn't find a manual online for this model, and had to download and print out the manual for a similar model. Took me twenty minutes to print out to avoid printing the foreign language pages. They should include a printed manual with the machine. They do include a printed quick start guide which is very useful, but the manual provides much more info. For example, I just couldn't get the threader to work til I read the manual and said, ah ha, that's how it works. For all the benefits, accessories and attributes, I think this machine is a very good bargain at the price.
I bought a Singer after owning Kenmore and Brother sewing machines for 40 years. Its a good machine, has a lot of power, can sew through multiple layers of fabric with ease which is what I was looking for. The only downside is the sewing table is smaller than what I had expected. It's about 3 inches shorter in length and 2 inches in width which may not seem much but is a necessity when working with large projects. I guess manufacturer has to cut cost somewhere!
I bought this because I make patchwork clothing with flat-felled seams and my Bernina stops sometimes when it hits the intersection of 4 flat-felled seams. The singer goes right through and asks for more. The 6360 is a lot of machine for the price, and I love it. I have nicknamed it Bam-Bam--not because it's noisy (it really isn't), but because of the enthusiasm I feel when the going gets tough. The only thing I would like to see that isn't there is the option to have the needle stop in the down position for pivots.
Read the instructions and this machine will perform flawlessly. Simple to operate and setup is a breeze

Thank you so much for the 5 stars and for taking the time to write your review of the Singer Heavy Duty model 6360 sewing machine. We greatly appreciate you for sharing your experience with other shoppers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a strong dependable machine that could handle sewing denim and other thicker fabrics. This machine is exactly what I needed to sew and repair all of my decorative pillows to match my color scheme. In addition I was able to make outdoor curtains. The extension was so valuable to have. I can tell by the quality I will have this machine for a long while!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not much time to use before review was due. My project was a bag made from upholstery fabric with a cotton liner. Machine sewed great on both fabrics. Used the provided Jeans needle for the heavy fabric. Very little problems going through several layers. It would have been helpful if the presser foot could have higher clearance by as I tried to feed thick seams under to begin project. Also the speed was fine sewing long straight seams but would have been helpful if I could have set it to a slower speed working around circle edges. The foot peddle a little stiff so more pressure resulted in a fast speed. Light weight. Easy to move to table and attachable table great for sewing larger pieces together. The removable base producing a narrow swing arms worked great when sewing around the circular areas of bag. Liked the movable needle position. I could use the wide foot to help hold seams together yet move needle to the right to produce the 1/4 seam I wanted. I also used the overcast foot on my edges for smooth edge. I have difficulty seeing small things so the self threaded is perfect for my eye Sight. The only reason I rated this a 4 instead of a 5 was the height of presser foot clearance making it difficult to get thick seams started. I usually do quilt piecing so it will have no problems with those projects. Easy to start sewing right out of the box bit i would really like to use this mkre to gibe a better review m

Thank you sew much for taking the time to write your review of the Singer model HD6360M Mechanical Heavy Duty sewing machine. We greatly appreciate you for sharing your experience with other shoppers. Regarding the lift of the presser foot: The Singer model HD6360 presser foot lifts about ½ inch when the lifter is in the normal up position (at this point top tension is disengaged). The presser foot can lift to about 5/8 inch, by lifting the presser foot lifter higher, in order to give extra space for placement of thicker fabric or multiple layers of material under the presser foot more easily. The presser foot will not stay in the higher position without the lifter being held in the uppermost position. Also be aware that if you sew on multiple layers that are too thick and it raises the presser foot too high, the top tension will be disengaged and the machine will not make a proper stitch (may jam machine).
