I purchased my PRS100 in February. Since I have very little sewing experience, I wasn't sure what I needed. I'm so glad that my dealer decided to show me this machine. It is awesome. I have really enjoyed learning to use it and it has been super easy to learn...even for a not-so-sew-savvy person like myself. I would recommend this machine to everyone.
This machine does almost everything I need to embroider. I love being able to do monogram caps that look so professional. It is easy to learn how to operate and stitches beautifully.
This machine was purchased to do mainly onsies, clothes and hats. The free arm and bottom loading bobbin is amazing. So easy to use! The only downside is only a 8x8 hoop with no possibility for an upgrade in size.
Mom and I purchased the Persona over another brand because of the Disney feature, however mom owns a number of Disney patterns that are on Memory Cards and for some reason they are not compatible with the Persona. All other memory cards work fine. Not sure why they did not include the proper programming for the Memory cards. Apparently there are no plans to update the software so that if you own Disney that are on Memory cards they will work. If that had been included and she not have to purchase patterns that she already owns we would have given a 5 star rating.
When I found out that this machine existed, I said, "I think I have to have that"! It took me a little while to get adapted to it, since it's so much different than a flatbed machine, but now we're friends. Ha ha! I've been working on tee shirts, & hope to have about a dozen to take to my beauty shop & sell, hopefully! I would love to send a photo, but I have no clue how to do that, sorry.
I moved up to The PRS 100 from the Brother PE 770 with only a max hoop size of 5 x 7. I am really enjoying the range of items that I can embroidery such as stuff animals, Onesies, hats & shoes. The only thing I wish my new machine had was a 6 x 10 hoop to do large Disney Designs, kitchen recipe towels and zipper bags without having to use my software to split the designs (except the Disney Designs).
