I love this machine but after 2 weeks the auto threaded quit working so I just thread it myself. I knew it was an issue and it wouldn't keep me from purchasing again.
This has brought me more compliments than ever. Making personalized logo on hats has been very impressive. I've actually got a small business started through the word of mouth. My end results has spoken for me. Thanks.
This machine was my first experience with an embroidery machine so I cannot compare it to others. I've only owned a Brother sewing machine and I have always dreamed of a embroidery machine. My son works for a print shop and they were in need of someone to outsource their embroidery jobs to and I started looking into machines. This machine was half the price of any other machine I looked at. I took the chance and purchased it even though the single head worried me. It weighs 68 pounds so I couldn't bring it anywhere for classes and so I unpacked it, read the manuals, watched YouTube videos, and read blogs. I have never machine embroidered before and I was so nervous to use it but at the same time pressured because I had to start making money to pay for it. Needless to say I was amazed at how easy it was to make beautiful designs! I am having so much fun! The single head is not an issue at all. So easy to pull another color thread through. I got my first print job within a month and it was poly knit golf shirts and I was so freaked out to start. But there again I was worried for nothing! It was a total breeze. I cannot say enough great things about this machine! I purchased PE Design Next software and now I am learning how to digitize my own work. Thank you Brother, I'm now the owner of a business that I love!!!
The threading from one color to the next is a bit cumbersome. I am getting the hang of it. I am use to the threading of my PE770, which was such a breeze. The embroidery area should be more for this machine. The best feature is the text editing and adding of other designs. The screen is a big plus too. Also as with the PE770 changing the color sequence is great - especially with the threading. It is really fast. So wonderful to actually see the designs. The red locator light is also a welcomed feature. I had a concern with the vibration - but a very sturdy cart solved that problem.
I love this machine don't get me wrong, and these are really personal pet peeves I have with it. The manuals really stink. They are printed way to small, and are impossible to use most of the time. Also with the hat hoop, The machine says to do it one way. The book says another, and the paper work says another way. I figured it out, but it was a pain in my brother. I HATE THREADING THIS MACHINE!!!. It isn't bad just different from my other brothers, and I don't like the needle threader, the one on my 780D is so much nicer. The way the machine runs is so awesome, I love the fact it basically runs like my other 2 brother machines, just on a nice lcd screen. The machine stitches beautifully I have had no problems that weren't my own (I put the bobbin in backwards), will I upgrade to the prs 1000 you bet. Do I wish I had just jumped in and bought the PRS 1000, yes. So if you are thinking of a commercial machine, and want to jump to this one to get the feel of a commercial machine. Do it, do it, do it, It hasn't let me down at all. None of them have.
