Overall the machine meets my needs as a small business and I can see it working well as I grow. Touchscreen and on machine software functionality are great and pretty comprehensive (without getting too complicated). Easy to operate with a small footprint, this machine is worth it.
The machine is a big investment, but very worth it. The design allows for easily slipping on the bag, child's shirt, onesie, and caps. I do recommend getting the Durkee fast frames and the Durkee hat frame to go with it. I also recommend the tables that are sold with it as it allows for the project to hang in the middle allowing for easier movement of the machine. It is easy to use, the screen display is a good size and it sews beautifully. Also, the bobbin is easy to change mid-project. My only negative is that the area around the hole that the thread goes through to the needle is dark blue and makes it hard to see for my older eyes! I fixed this by putting a piece of white vinyl around the hole and also attached a small light to the area. I also find that it sews better with better thread.
I had been wanting an embroidery machine. Told my husband I wanted it for Christmas and he kept telling me it was too expensive. Christmas morning he says own my present but open it in pieces. Started opening the box was little confused opened the last one and I couldn't have been any happier. Set it up and started using it. Even decided to open my own business.
Love the PRS100. Variety of hoop sizes is wonderful. Wouldn't trade it for anything. This machine allows me to do projects that I could not do on my PE770 which I love as well.
I purchased this machine in December 2016, having never embroidered. It is fairly simple to operate and sews extremely well. I love that it stops and cuts the threads before moving on to the next area. The only problem I have is the automatic threader, it seems to get bent a lot and not work. I hate to have to bring the whole machine to the dealer to get it fixed as he is over an hour away and feel that I might do more damage with the car ride that it is worth. I also wish that the hoop size was bigger than 8x8, a 10x8 would be perfect!
I can finally embroidery with out the restriction of hooping! The bobbin thread us a bit of a challenge on occasion. It is difficult to get to and I'm not sure if it is loaded correctly until the sewing begins.
