Horrible Remote
on December 7, 2023
Posted by: 225ultra

I bought this TV a month ago. Picture is good and so is the color. The remote is horrible. It’s super small, it’s virtually impossible to use in a dark room. And, I Are you there? can’t use the volume buttons, they will not work. They do something completely different then adjust the volume up and down. I had to load the app on my phone in order to turn the volume up and down. I checked the instructions and I Seriously looked on line, neither were any help. Very displeased with this purchase because of that reason.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi 225ultra,
Thank you for reaching out and letting us know about the issues you are experiencing with your remote. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
First, please remove the batteries from your remote, and then hold the Power button for eight seconds to reset the remote. Then, reinsert the batteries and try to use the remote again.
Next, Check if the remote is sending an IR signal.
Take either a digital camera or use the camera on your phone or tablet. Point the remote at the camera, and then press and hold the Power button on the remote. As you hold the button down, look at the camera's screen. If the remote is sending an IR signal, you will see a colored light coming from the remote control.
If you do not see the IR light, replace the batteries with fresh ones and try again. If you still do not see the IR light, then replace the remote.
If you continue to have issues, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. LiveChat with an agent, as well as manuals, software, and warranty info, can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website.

Hi Watcher,
Thank you for your feedback on the CU7000 TV. Please know your opinion is important to us and will be shared with our internal teams.
I believe what you are describing is a feature called Auto Motion Plus, which eliminates ghosting and blurring that occurs from fast-moving images. These motion smoothing settings look great on live TVs, like sporting events or parades, which are filmed at 30 frames per second. Most movies, however, are filmed at 24 frames per second and are not intended to be viewed with these features. When turned on, this causes the dreaded soap opera effect.
To Change Motion smoothing settings on your TV: Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Auto Motion Plus Settings (Picture Clarity Settings). 1. The default setting is Auto. This means the feature automatically turns on and off based on the type of program being watched. 2. Select Auto Motion Plus (Picture Clarity) to change the setting to either Off or Custom.
If you select Custom, three additional options are available: • Blur Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Blur setting. • Judder Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Judder setting. • LED Clear Motion: This option allows you to configure the LED backlight to sharpen fast-moving images. Select to turn On or Off.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product. You can contact us for further help at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Unreliable TV

I bought a 43” Samsung. Great picture but within one week the TV would not turn on or react to the remote (even added new batteries). I returned the unit and bought another one. This one did the exact same thing in only three days. Not a Vizeo fan but decided to go that route. Very good choice so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this TV as my main one for my living room and I just love it. Its hard to find real quality TVs but Samsung knows how to deliver. I love the Smart features offered, the build in streaming services and the ease of navigation makes it so seamless to adapt to. Not to mention the crisp audio as well. This TV is worth it.

Happy with TV, but have to keep signing in to app
on May 31, 2023
Posted by: Crabbage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have internet TV, with main app being Direct Stream TV. Every few days I have to sign in to app, only on this new Samsung…none of my other TV’s. Coincidentally I saw that issue in the reviews before I made the purchase. My biggest issue was that wall bracket mounting screws are not included with TV and the screws with bracket were a different size. Oddly, the screws are included for the stand. Why not standardize the screw size to be used with stand or wall bracket? Did I just blow your mind?

Hi Crabbage,
Thank you for your feedback on the CU7000D TV. I have a few troubleshooting tips that may resolve the issues you are experiencing.
First, let's ensure you are running the latest Firmware. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update.
Next, let's ensure your DirecTV app is also up to date. Apps” on your Smart TV and select “Settings” from the top right corner. Next, select the YouTube app and select "Update," if available. If the issue persists or if there is no Update available, we will try deleting and reinstalling the YouTube app. To do so, navigate to “Apps” on your Smart TV and select “Settings” from the top right corner. Next, select the app. Finally, select Delete, and select Delete again to confirm.
Then we will reinstall the app by returning to “Apps” on your Smart TV and selecting “Settings” from the top right corner. Click on “Youtube” and then select “Reinstall.”
Regarding the accessories needed to wall mount your TV, please know that we do not include wall mount screws because not every wall will require the same type of screw. Each customer’s mounting situation can be very different, requiring specific screws to ensure the best, most secure fit. A generic screw type included in the box might be inappropriate for a customer’s wall; the result could be the customer inadvertently mounting his TV insecurely.
If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Alexa IN-compatabiity
on November 27, 2023
Posted by: BrianC
Samsung is intentionally trying to fool the consumers by making claims their TV's are Alexa compatible. In order to be "Alexa compatible" most consumers expect this to mean that we can talk to out Echo Dot's and control the TV. That is not the case. Samsung uses a term called "HANDS FREE Alexa" but that functionality is reserved for only their top-of-the-line models. That means most of their TVs are not HANDS FREE. Pushing a button on their remote to initiate an Alexa command, in my opinion. makes their TV's incompatible with Alexa. In the best-case scenario, this would make their TVs "Partially compatible". Alexa is so popular because it is HANDS FREE. Don't make the mistake of buying their TVs and think you can use your existing devices to control their TVs. They failed my expectations by marketing their TVs in this manner. Shame on you, Samsung, shame on you. Back to the Big Box store to get my money back!

Hi BrianC,
Thank you for your feedback on the CU7000 TV. Please know your review is important to us and will be shared with our internal teams. We apologize for any confusion regarding voice assistant capability.
The CU7000 TV does not have a built-in voice assistant. It is however able to be connected to external voice assistants such as the Echo Dot. When using Alexa on your CU7000 TV, please know your TV needs to be connected to the Internet to receive voice commands. When it's powered off, the internet disconnects, and your TV will not be able to receive commands.
To turn on your TV with Alexa, you’ll need a standalone Alexa device (such as an Echo Show). From there, you’ll need to ensure: 1. Your TV and Alexa devices are added to both the SmartThings and Alexa apps. 2. Your Alexa device is connected to the Internet. 3. The SmartThings Skill is enabled within the Alexa app.
If you need further help setting up the voice assistant feature, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: 1) LiveChat 2) Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info

I hate the ads
on July 15, 2023
Posted by: cosfini05

The TV itself is fine and I would probably give it five stars.
I hate the ads. Some of them are very inappropriate for kids. And just when I think I have gotten rid of them, it seems to come back. I oot out of all the 3rd party items, and it's still there.
So I use the TV without internet and just use my own streaming devices.

Hi cosfini05,
Thank you for choosing the CU7000 TV and for your review regarding Smart Hub. Your feedback will be shared with our internal teams.
Please know you can choose what your TV does when you turn it on by going to Settings > All Settings> General > Smart Features.
When you set Autorun Smart Hub to be on, the TV displays the Home Screen automatically when you turn the TV on. If Autorun Last App is set to on, the last used app automatically runs when you turn on the TV which would help you avoid any ads. You can turn this function on or off.
If you’d like more help with settings, please know we’re here to help! Call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: 1) LiveChat 2) Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info

Hi Joyd,
We appreciate your purchase and are sorry for any confusion regarding voice assistants. You are correct, the CU7000 does not have voice assistants built in. However, they do work with Alexa and Google Assistant. You can connect them to your existing Alexa and Google Assistant devices to ask them to turn on your TV, change channels, control volume, and more.
Our CU8000 TV Series and above offers voice command and built-in voice assistants.
If you need assistance connecting your external Alexa or Google Assistant device or if there’s anything we can ever help with, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week.
