Broke on second use.

The spool cover broke the second time I used it during routine trimming. Now the trimmer is unusable and apparently the product has been out of stock for months. There are dozens of FAQ posts about the same issue, this is clearly not an isolated event.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The spool cover cracked under normal use, and now no replacement has been available for months. This is a truly bad product!

I LOVE my new GWPro 80 volt weed eater!! After throwing soo many weed eaters across the yard out of frustration, this one is a dream come true. It’s super easy to assemble and fun to use because there are no hassles at all. The line feeds when barely bumped and it’s so quiet. Save yourself the pain and buy the GW PRO 80 volt. You won’t be sorry. I also bought the GMAX 40/Lithium lawn mower and blower 80 volts. That blower will take the paint off a car! Not really but it’s powerful and the mower is quiet and easy to maneuver.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Replacement part not available

The spool cover broke and the company tells me a replacement part will be available in late June. In California the weeds stop growing before then. I need this NOW. Back to the gas trimmer.

Terrible design

I have used this weed eater maybe eight times total. The spool cover broke under normal wear and tear. The spool cover is on backorder, and my grass keeps growing.

I bought this tool about 3 months ago. I did a lot of research after my first purchase of electric yard equipment turned out to be a big mistake. But I’m really really happy with this equipment. I’m so happy I’ve actually bought two more pieces of Greenworks equipment (the backpack blower and the hedge trimmer attachment which I swap with the string trimmer attachment)

I just bought the 80v string trimmer and blower combo and could not be happier with it. The string trimmer makes the work extremely easy and the blower could blow my older "other brand" blower away...literally!
