Had this unit for just a month. Everything works well. The app interface is great. I’ve been using the heater function for the past week and let me tell you “it’s mostly quite and efficient”. Love this unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Won't cool the room.

Will not cool the room, even with heat off it will only add heat to the room. It may cool you as any other fan will, but unless it has a way to remove heat from the room, it will not reduce the temperature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We can confirm that this air treatment appliance won't cool off a room, like an AC unit would do. Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air. Just alright

I've had this for about two months and haven't had the need to use the heat, though I did test it to make sure it works. It works well, is quiet, and looks beautiful. I'm taking off one star because the fan is good if it's not too hot but if it is hot, it doesn't do much. When I saw the unit in the Dyson showroom, it seemed to be blowing cold air, but I think that's because the air conditioning was blasting in the store.

I love this air filter. I bought it for my craft space to warm me up next winter. But i had no idea how much i was throwing into the air with my polymer baking and trimming. Everything shows up in my history on the Dyson app. And the fact that my dyson cleans these toxins out of the air is amazing!!

Poor perfomance for the money. And randomly won't start. A typically over-engineered Dyson product. Just buy a basic fan. Does a better job for fraction of the cost
